My Belkin 802.11g Wireless Desktop Network Card keeps dropping its connection. This happens every minute or so at present. Signal strenght to BT Home hub is strong (four bars) and drivers are up to date. Any ideas for a fix or am I best to replace? Tony

Sounds like you need to re-sync your modem and router. Remove the power plug from the modem and router. Then first plug the modem power on and wait for all the lights to come on. Then plug the power to the router and wait for all the lights to come on. Re-start your PC and see if it is ok. Good Luck.

Internet keeps getting disconnected.Computer needs rto restart

there is nothing to do with adapter... you need to check with some other laptop to isolate where is the issue...

if your laptop works fine without dropping connection then get a replacement for your belkin adapter...

if your laptop also looses connection, then you need to check your wireless router...

1. reset your router on factory reset and after try to connect your router, if you get success then you re configure your router agin with IP address 192.178.1.1

Cant get my new laptop to connect to wireless - comes up with limited or no connectivity message. good signal strenght and laptop connects to other networks (eg at work) am worried that I have messed about...

Ok, the problem is that you can't connect to YOUR network right? Here's some things that could help you out:
  1. Make sure you reset your modem, simply unplug it for a few seconds. Then connect it again, select your network automatically.
  2. Make sure your internet provider's servers aren't down.
  3. Make sure modem is connected to your router properly.
Hope this helped. Good Luck!

Bt home hub (shuny black one) wont connect wirelessly

Try to disable the netgear interface and let windows manage the wifi card. This could also be happening if the signal is not strong enough where the machines are.
Is your wifi hub also a netgear? If not it may not be compatible with the cards if that is the case you will need to replace them with diffrent make of the cards preferably the same brand as hub.

Belkin N1 Wireless USB Adapter

Hi Emma,
Try these first:

change channels to 1-6-or 11. Make sure you change all of your wireless computers.

check is to make sure you are NOT using "IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network."

You can find at setting under "Wireless Network Connection Properties" and then under "Authentication" tab of your network properties.

This particular authentication method is periodically logging you off the network and re-authenticating.

Check the adapter in device manager to make sure that windows is not shutting the adapter down to save power.

Cordless phones1.gif and wireless ethernet cards use overlapping frequencies. As a test, you can unplug the AC cords from all the cordless phones in the area and see if it helps.
Please let me know how you make out.
thanks
