Yes,u need a good antena,like a digital antena or a roof antena to recieve good free air DTV signal.U don't need a converter box,because ur tv is a digital tv.

I am having the same proplem for Curtis lcd3717a. I tried a RCA unversial romote crcr350. Can not get to work. Any universal romote that would work with this TV

3. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED for the selected device flashes twice, then RELEASE.

take your remote very close to am radio & press the buttons if there is no reception on the radio, change ur remote

i had this with my samsung and my mums instead of pressing red power button press either switch from analog tv to digital button or just press a number

Gee thats strange they did not supply a remote and its brand new. Normally you can use the controls on the TV itself.....Are you saying it didnt have a manual? either?...then do a google search over the NET what ever your model is. Try to find some instructions? Good-luck
