SOURCE: How do I remove the selector knob on washer

The main selector control know spins off by turning the selector inner knob counterclockwise. The outer ring will then pull off. The other knobs are held on with friction and should just pull off.

The best way to get behind the front panel is by removing the top panel of the machine. There should be 2 gray/solver tabs at the back of the machine near the top if you remove the 2/4 screws from the top then the whole top panel will slide forward then lift off.

Be sure to unplug the machine first.

SOURCE: GE washer model WBSE3120B2WW has

I have a very simular problem. It started by running a cycle without me even being in the room. The only way I could stop it from filling and running through a cycle was to unplug it. I left it unplugged for about week & 1/2 - 2 weeks and when I plugged it back in, it worked just fine. It has started running by itself again but now I push the start button and nothing happens. Any solutions?

SOURCE: GE model JKP13GOP2BG control panel faulty ( F1 code)

Often times when someone makes an attempt to "repair" a control, it does not hold up. Replace the entire control. Don't waste your time. You will also get a year warranty on a replacement control.

GE washer fills, empties, won't agitate or spin. model whdrr418giww only about 18 months old

you will have to remove the front panel of the washer. then look on top of the motor. on top of the motor is a control board. whille the machine is turned on, you should see a flashing light located in the middle of the control board to the right. you will have to count how many time that light blinks.

once you have a count, gain access into the control console(where the timer is) by removing a few screws. in there you will find a tech sheet that will tell you what the blink count means. i bet you its the motor thats bad. its about $160.00
if you need to order a part goto http://lartoday.com/order_parts.htm

Replacing my washer lid assembly.

If your washer is a kenmore /whirlpool then you need to flip up the control panel after removing screws on either side of the console. Some models have plastic shoulders that hide the screws some have the screws int he read. Flip up the console and unplug the lid switch quick connect. Pop the 2 clips on the rear of the washer and tip the body foward.
On a GE you get the front panel off by compressing spring clips between the top and front. then remove screws from the facing that hold down the top. You will then wiggle out the top and unplug the disconnect. On a maytag washer you remove the control console to get to the lid switch.
