Your printer comes with software used by the computer to control how it prints. Open the printer software and then select print setup. Under that screen somewhere there is paper size selection. Make sure it is set to whatever size paper you have in the printer (i.e., 8-1/2" x 11", etc.). All it is is a size paper mismatch. The computer is trying to tell the printer to print on one size of paper and the printer is saying it can because it has a different size of paper in it.

SOURCE: printer keeps saying paper jam

we had the same problem at the college where i work. the print queue had somehow clogged up to such a point where the printer was doing this. the constant paper jam light & the printer taking paper when printing test sheets etc. we solved it by deleting the printer & then re-installing the drivers. may not work for everyone, but it certainly worked for us.

SOURCE: paper mismatch

Hi kingwa55,

I have an hp photosmart c4480 and was having the same problem printing wedding invitations. Same size 5.5"x8.5'. Im not sure if this will work on your printer, but this is what I had to do.

Click on Print, then Properties, then features.
About half way down there is a drop down box under sizing options.
Click on custom
Create a name, and put your width and height in.
Click Save and then OK
Completely X out of the print options.
Then Click
File, print, properties, features, click the drop down box under sizing options.
Click more and scroll to the bottom and it should be there.

If your options are different then mine, I'm sorry for wasting your time.

SOURCE: Paper mismatch error

I got around this problem by tricking the printer.
The paper sensor, on my printer model hp4500 seems to only sense the paper at the beggining of the print job.
What I did to trick the printer to print on odd size paper is slide the paper adjuster to 8.5 and put a regular white sheet in. Then put your odd size paper under it. When you print your document set the number of copies to 2 and print. The printer is going to sense that the paper is correct, and start the job.
Here is the tricky part... once the first 8.5x11 sheet is almost all the way through quickly slide the paper adjuster over to match the size of your odd width paper. The printer should pick up the odd paper and print the second copy. Fool you printa! You should be able to do batches of odd paper size under the first 8.5X11. I hope this helps.

Printing vertical green lines on photos

The troubleshooting section for banding below was taken from the user manual found at this web link:
https://files.support.epson.com/pdf/wf3520/wf3520ug.pdf

White or Dark Lines in Printout

If you notice white or dark lines in your prints (also called banding), try these solutions before you reprint:

• Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary.

• Make sure the paper type setting matches the type of paper you loaded.

• Make sure you loaded the printable side of the paper correctly for your product.

• Turn off any high speed settings in your product software.

• Align the print head.

• You may need to replace the ink cartridges.

Hope this helps...

Correct settings for printing on semi-gloss paper. I keep getting smears when printing and photo doesn't come out clearly

Well, it would be good to know why the photos are not good quality... like blurry or bad color or? Are you using a good paper? I have great luck with Canon glossy, and love the matte paper from Staples. Matte is actually easier and all around better color saturation, I find. I guess that you are using too much saturation of ink... see if your dialog box for printer options has a way to make saturation less intense. Also, I assume you are using the same dialog box to choose the type of paper. That is important, since different papers absorb ink at different speeds and amounts. I hope that helps... keep trying!
