Removing the water tank from what? You need to specify the manufacturer name and model of the unit for someone to be able to answer this question.

Steam cleaner doesnt spray water anymore

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

Check to ensure there is a full tank of Bissell Hard Floor Solutions and water. - Make sure the clean water tank is inserted properly by removing the tank and re-inserting it. Ensure the gasket is attached to the water tank and did not fall into the machine. Reattach this gasket if necessary. - Check the valve on the bottom of the clean water tank. The water should come out of the X-valve when pressed. If the valve is blocked, soak the cap and insert in hot tap water until the blockage clears. Check the handle to ensure it is installed properly. Remove the handle and re-attach, making sure the handle is pushed down all the way. If you need to re-install the handle, remove the solution tank and lift the tab as you lift the handle. Check to ensure the solution tube is inserted properly into the floor nozzle. Clean the spray tips by bending a paper clip and inserting this into the spray tips to clean. If you continue to experience no spray, you may need to call Bissel at 1-800-237-7691 for further assistance.

You can purchase a wide variety of high quality Bissell replacement parts for your Bissell vacuum direct from Think Crucial with free shipping and an exclusive 10% coupon for Fixya.com readers, use code: FIXYA10

Used bissell how do i know if parts are missing

The main water tank is two staged; you put clean water in and the flexible bladder allows the machine's pickup suction to fill. This removes the need for two tanks (but it's harder to clean out the suction tank area). Just remember to clean the filters each use. There's one on the underneath of the clean water tank cap and one under the FLOW INDICATOR cap. You may need to get a User's Guide. Try calling the Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691 Hope that helps.

I need to know why the Hoover Max Extreme keeps telling me t check the tank?

Hi! The solution and water goes in the top tank. Dirty water is suctioned into the bottom tank as you're scrubbing your floors. To fill the clean water tank, remove the clean water tank cap. The cap serves as a measuring cap for the solution. Fill the cap with Hoover carpet washer solution to the fill line. Pour detergent into tank. Fill the rest of the clean water tank with hot tap water and twist the cap back on. You are now ready to clean. Hope this helps!

When button is pressed, water does not come out of the holding canister. still seems to have suction, but water doesn't come out to rinse/clean carpet.

Please check the following with liquid in both tanks.

- Check to see if the machine will spray through the hose with the setting on tools. If it does, the pump is fine. Continue troubleshooting.

- Check for debris on spray tips. Clean them with a soft brush (on old tooth brush works well). The spray tips may be lifted out for easier access.

- Ensure the tank lid is properly attached to the bottom of the tank. To attach this properly, remove the Water Tank from the machine. Hook the front window onto the lip of the bottom container and then allow the window with lid to cover the complete tank. Secure the latch on the back of the bottom tank to the back of the tank lid. THE TANK LID CANNOT BE ATTACHED PROPERLY IF THE BOTTOM TANK IS ALREADY INSTALLED IN THE MACHINE.
- Check the bottom of the Water Tank and the Formula Tank to make sure each has a red auto-load gasket attached. Make sure the Water Tank and the Formula Tank are seated properly. Depress the x on this gasket to ensure this depresses and release back out. Liquid from the tank should dispense.

- Remove the handle completely and re-attach. Once the handle is re-attached, re-attempt to spray.

If the machine continues to not spray, check the following:

REMOVE THE COLLECTION TANK:
• Make sure the unit is set to water rinse
• Remove the smart mix bottle and fill it with water only
• Place the smart mix bottle into the collection tank reservoir
• Run the unit and try to spray. If the machine sprays, you will be able to see the water level decreasing in the smart mix bottle and you will need to replace the bottom tank. It is possibly warped.

Bissell will spray water when set to water rinse, but as soon as it is set to light, normal, or heavy cleaning, there is no spray. I have tried priming but to no avail. I put plain water in the solution...

We cannot get the water and soap to dispense in out Bissell steamcleaner

Check to ensure there is liquid in the water tank and the formula bottle.
Note: This machine will spray with liquid in the Water tank only if the machine is set to the Water Rinse setting. On any other setting, you need to have liquid in the formula tank as well.

If no: add liquid to the Water tank and the Formula tank.
If yes: check each of the following....

- Check the bottom of the Water Tank and the Formula Tank to make sure each has a red auto-load gasket attached. Make sure the Water Tank and the Formula Tank are seated properly.

-If everything is seated and attached properly, prime the machine by turning off the power, waiting one minute, and then turning the power back on and depressing the trigger on the handle.
- If priming the unit fails to fix the problem, remove the handle completely and re-attach. Once the handle is re-attached, re-attempt to spray.

Not putting out water

Hello,

Here's some trouble shooting tips that will help you figure out what's wrong with your Bissell Little Green Machine, and why the water won't spray out. You didn't mention how old the machine was, but if the machine is brand new, and you've never used this before, then you'll need to prime the machine for the first time.

To prime the Little Green Machine, remove the hose after filling the clean water tank, and press and hold the trigger on the hose for approximately 45 seconds. This will prime the pump, and get the water flowing.

If the machine is older, and you've already been using it, here's some other troubleshooting tips that you can do to try and fix the machine:

9c4a1a7.jpg

Step 1. Fill the clean water solution tank with water, and remove it from the machine. With the tank removed, press the piston at the end of the tank that fits into the machine. The piston is the spring loaded part in the top of the water tank that is pressed upwards when the trigger is squeezed, which in turn releases water into the machine. Press the piston inwards with your finger and see if water comes out.

a0685ae.jpg

Step 2. If water is released from the tank when you push the piston inwards, then your piston and cap assembly are fine. Next unscrew the cap to the clean water tank and make sure that the o-ring is present. This is the rubber ring that rests in between the cap and the tank.

b5a2508.jpg

Step 3. If your o-ring is not there, you'll need to purchase a new a new o-ring and replace it. If the o-ring is present, screw the cap back onto the tank. Inspect the receiver to make sure there is no debris blocking it. The receiver is the part on the machine that the tank sits on top of. If you see debris here, remove any debris that could be obstructing the tanks piston.

c320b5b.jpg

Step 4. After checking these three things, refill the tank with water, reinsert back into the machine and test to see if the water now comes out. If the water does not come out, move on to step 5.

Step 5. Unscrew the two screws on the handle of the hose, and remove the cover that the two screws secure.

1e843f8.jpg

Step 6. After removing the hose cover, inspect the hose that connects to the trigger assembly for blockages:

1b1d8f3.jpg

Step 7. If blockages are found, remove the tube from the trigger, and blow through the hose to remove any blockages, and reinstall the tube back onto the trigger.

Step 8. Reinstall the trigger assembly so that the metal spring's curved side is facing down so that it touches the trigger valve:

026cf8d.jpg

Step 8. After reassembling the hose, turn the machine on again and try spraying the hose again.

If none of these solutions fixed your machine, this most likely indicates that you need to replace your pump. The pump is the internal part that takes the water from the tank, through the hose, and finally sprays it out. The pump replacement is a moderately difficult repair, but if you'd like me to walk you through it, I'd be more then happy to do so.

Please feel free to ask any follow up questions, or let me know if you'd like for me to show you how to replace the pump. I'm always more then happy to answer any question that you may have.

If you found this helpful, please kindly rate my repair helpful so that other Fixya users with the same problem can easily find this solution. By rating the repair you are also encouraging repair professionals to continue posting free repairs. Thanks in advance,

Chris J.

Hoover Upright Steam Vac, 12 amp

  • Check to make sure that the lower dirty water lid is installed and secure and not cracked.
  • Check to make sure the front duct panel is installed on the dirty water tank (this will transition the water from the front nozzle into the tank)
  • Check the filter in the dirty tank lid, clean if necessary
  • Remove the lower tank and look at the motor cover, locate a round hole, you should see a black ring (gasket).
  • with the lower tank removed, turn the machine on to check suction at the round hole, if OK then your problem will be with one of the above reasons
