Have Maytag gas dryer model DG412. Ignited glows, will light gas, but then gas shuts off after a minute or so. Replaced the solenoids, didn't help, same thing happens. Gas ignites, but quickly shuts off. Any ideas?

If the flame goes out fast like that the dryer has to be cleaned out and also check the vent line, all a dryer does is move air if it's blocked and can't move air the flame won't stay lit.that's a gas dryer it should be taken apart once a year and cleaned so this doesn't happen and also so you don't have a fire.check the duct where the lint filter slides into and you can remove the vent line from the back of the dryer,if the gas stays on then you know the block is in the vent line.make sure there isn't a cage outside or a birds nest isn't in the vent these are common things that happen.

SOURCE: dryer wont heat

About all that is left to replace is the flame sensor mounted at 9o'clock on burner flame tube, but I would double check your airflow, This is CRUCIAL to the normal operation of the dryer.
Also, a lint filter with an invisible coating from fabric sheets can cause an airflow disruption, try running without clothes and the filter removed.
Tip: Always provide the complete information provided on the manufacturers product information data tag, located on the unit, and not in the user’s manual. This will help you acquire a more accurate and expeditious response to your complaint.

SOURCE: LG DRYER DLE2532W DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

DLE2532W is an electric heat model. (a gas model would be a DLG......) To get a rear control LG dryer apart: Open door and remove two phillips head screws at the 5 and 7 o'clock positions. Use a putty knife to release the clips holding the top panel to the dryer front by pushing the clips in at the seam of the dryer top and front, a couple inches in from each side. Swing top back. Remove two phillips head screws at the top, allowing front panel to pull forward. Unplug drum light and door switch and drum sensor plugs, allowing front panel to be completely removed and set aside. Now, look at the burner area at the lower right. Behind the gas valve you will find a small (about dime sized) high limit thermostat on the left side of the burner cone. It has two wires attached and has a small pin in the center of it. (Only on gas models) Push the pin in.
Now, if that get's you ignition again, CORRECT VENTING ! Get rid of flexible vent material. (use only rigid aluminum vent pipe and elbows) Clean out vent pipes and outside vent hood. Outside vent hood should be the kind with a four inch flap for the opening, not a two inch flap. Tripping of the high limit thermo is almost always caused by inadequate air flow.

I have a gas dryer that the igniter plug glows, but does not light the gas. One time when I had the front panel off the gas ignited and the dryer heated, but only burned for a minute then shut off. Now I...

with front off it will short cycle. If ignitor glows and then goes out without lighting, you have bad burner coils. The 2 black round things on burner assembly. Unplug unit then unplug coils and remove bracket with 2 screws. install coils and test.

When the dryer is cold the heater flame will

The heating circuit is working perfectly except for the solenoid coils as indicated by the occasional glowing of the igniter but no gas is ignited. A gas valve closes as the solenoid coil weakens as it gets hot and does not open until it has cooled down. Replace both gas valve solenoid coils to get the dryer back into proper operation. The solenoid coils are part numbers 694539 and 694540 but also can be purchased as a kit here.

Dryer spins but dosen't get hot

Since you indicated that it had an igniter I assume you have a natural gas or propane model. I had some trouble with a Hotpoint dryer and replaced the igniter. That didn't solve the problem. I then decided to just change the gas solenoid and the flame sensor at the same time and it worked fine again. I got them both cheap from Ebay from the same seller.

The flame sensor tells the machine if the ingiter was able to light the gas burner. If it doesn't sense the heat it will turn off the gas solenoid so your house doesn't fill with gas. The gas solenoid is an electrical valve that lets the gas flow into the burner. You should be able to hear the gas solenoid click when it opens and then your igniter will glow and start the flame. If it shuts itself off within a minute of that then I would suggest the flame sensor as a starting point. If it never clicks then I would start with the solenoid.

Good Luck and post back here if you solve it for the next person with your trouble.

There is no heat on Maytag gas drier. I see the ignition glowing but no fire. But some times the fire starts for one minute, then goes off. I am not sure of the model # below,

If the ignitor is glowing, the problem is most likely the gas valve coils. These electrical coils are located right above the gas valves. When energized, these solenoids open the gas valves and permit the burner to light. Due to the difficulty in testing these solenoids, it is recommended that both (all) be replaced at the same time if any are suspected of being faulty. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Kenmore gas dryer mod.110-73942. burner comes on as normal. After 5-10 minutes running Cycles off, igniter ( new) glows but no burner ign. Also replaced the sensor adjacent the igniter.

The gas valve coil is bad. When the ignitor is glowing the gas valve should open and allow gas in to be ignited. Change the gas valve.

My Maytag model # mdg6000bww doesn't heat up?

First thing to check is the ignitor underneath the drum. (You have to open the panel to see it) It should glow shortly after the dryer starts, then the flame starts and the ignitor shuts off. If the ignitor does not glow then it or the thermostat is bad. If the ignitor is glowing but the gas does not light then the gas valve coils may have to be replaced. If the gas ignites but does not stay on either the flame sensor or the coils are at fault.

How do you light pilot light?

Dryer does not have pilot light.  There is an ignitor that glows when the dryer is started and lights the flame when the gas begins to flow.  With the front of the dryer off start it up and look for the glow. when it glows hot enough (or on a newer model it might be a spark) the gas should ignite.  When the flame sensor sees that the gas is ignited it shuts off the ignitor and keeps the gas valve open until the temperature sensor gets high and shuts it off.  When the temp sensor cools down the cycle repeats.
If no glow or spark-->bad ignitor If no gas flow-->bad flame sensor or bad gas valve coil If gas comes on and goes off quickly-->lint filter and/or vent pipe or outlet may be clogged or bad flame sensor.

Gas......starts to heat then quits minutes later.

Problem is your gas solenoid coils. When they get worn they will open til they get out then shut. They will need to be replaced.

Part number 279834 replaces for most models.

Maytag Neptune MDG 5500 AWQ heats sporatically

your dryer has a safety feature that it will not run or heat when the door is opened. It is so no gas fumes are exhauseted into your home. Once the safety is engaged, It will not allow the dryer to restart for a short while. It should clear itself after only a few minutes. Hope this helps, good luck.
