I found it is to do with how old your computer operating system is if you have XP or a vista OS those operating systems cannot read that formatted video
The worm drive on either the focus or zoom motor jammed, Most likely the focus. They sometimes can be freed but 1st make sure you are not in manual focus. Larry's Electronics
