You may have mistakenly started in test mode, I suggest resetting the device, here is a link to the manual, it should have something about resetting the frame. http://www.retrevo.com/support/Sunpak-SDPF-080-Digital-Photo-Frames-manual/id/23157bh642/t/2/
On the opening frame when you turn it on Scroll through the icons to "setup" . Press enter.. A screen will come up sayinf "set up menu-photo setting"..Scroll down the left column to the center multi color icon and press enter. Press the right arrow on the handheld. In the grey box that comes up you will see various controls.. The third on the list is "brightness" . Press enter and then right arrow .. Scroll to setting you desire. (Normal, bright or soft are offered).. Good luck..
I also posted a question that you may know the answer to. How do I load photos on to the unit from my computer. I see there is a USB port on the Sunpak and I have a USB port on my computer .. but no cord with 2 USB port ends?

It won't display unless it's got pictures. On my copy i plugged my Frame into my computer. then pushed in a memory card to the Frame and dragged and dropped into the frame itself.
If there still isn't picture then there must be a setting on the Frame in which can make them go through the pictures.
