This depends a lot on your operating system and whether or not any applications were installed. If you're running Windows 7, you can use the Windows Media Player by selecting it from your applications. You can then click on the library and then select your disk. You can also search it under the start menu. Windows 8 is similar. If you're running Windows 10 it tends to be a little more complicated because Microsoft chose to remove Windows Media Player. You'll want to download a third party program such as VLC Media Player. After downloading it you can go to the playback tab I believe and choose your disk. Also, you can start the disks automatically in the future to save the frustration by typing "autoplay" in the search and set the DVD's to VLC Media Player.

How do I connect my view sonic 12843 to my DVD player?

Best option is to use the HDMI connector to connect the DVD player (assuming your DVD player has an HDMI port). Then make sure the monitor is set to accept the input from the HDMI port.

WhenI try to view a DVD R that I use for training it will not play it

If you normally use this DVD in a computer or laptop to view your training, that may be the problem. DVD players that are used to view movie DVDs must be "finalized" after recoding in order to be playable on non-PC type DVD players.

DVD plays in DVD player is not seen at all by Windows XP

Hi,it's obvious from your problem that the particular disc that cannot be viewed on your computer is of a formatt not supported by the windows XP.some DVDs are of low quality which can be viewed practically on any DVD player but as a result of their low quality and the sensitivity of the Windows they are not recognized by your computer. In as much as other DVDS play on your computer,it means there's no problem with your computer, but an unsupported disc formatt is been trying to be viewed and there's nothing you can do to view a DVD formatt not supported by your computer.please don't be bothered.
Thanks and take care

Im trying to review pics copied onto a dvd-r disc and i can't review them

Are you able to see the files on the DVD? Try copying the files onto your computer first before viewing them.If the problem continues, try to use a different computer because your DVD/CD drive might be having trouble viewing burned DVD/CD(s).

Need to make my dvd player multi region

This is not a Toshiba problem.

Most DVD players have region codes. If you play a DVD from your region 5 times, it will permantly set the code.

Blame the movie and record companies.

Even most computer DVD drives have region codes.

It's unlikely the sales person was educated enough in this topic to even know what a region code is.

Here's something else to consider. If the DVD you want to view is from England, they use PAL not NTSC, so it's unlikely you could view it on your TV anyway.

Get your son to copy the file from the DVD onto a USB FlashRAM drive, then mail it to you. They don't have region codes. Now you can view it on your computer, and make your own North American region DVD. Also, you could always have him e-mail the video to you, then burn it yourself.

Viewing a recorded DVD+R on PC

I am assuming you have an actual dvd drive of some sort installed in your computer. The problem you may be having is a missing codec. This problem can be solved by downloading a VLC player which has most needed codecs pre installed. This program is freeware and can be easily found online. I hope this helps. Good Luck!
