My defiant motion light is staying on in bright mode all day. It looks like one bulb may be out. Can that cause this problem?

unlikely
but the motion detector can have failed and is not seeing the light of the day to switch it off
check lens cover for an obstruction that is keeping the sensor in the dark so to speak

I have a defiant 180 motion security light. Just put the bulbs in and they are turning on during the daylight from a motion. how do I get it to com on only when dark?

There should be three adjustments on that light.
1. Amount of darkness to allow trigger
2. Amount of time it stays on
3. How sensitive the motion detector is.

If you would post the model number it would help
