Hi konni.
this is all i could find .
DVD player not working with TV By Charlotte Parker 25 Aug 2017
You've got your Sky Box, your TV, your DVD Player and your surround sound; you've also got your digi-box, your DVD recorder, Blu-Ray Player. With all that equipment, if something goes wrong it can be tricky to track down the issue. This article explains why your TV isn't playing DVDs and how to get it sorted out.
Figuring out the problem
Figuring out why your DVD Player isn't working with your TV is a process of elimination, so work through the steps below to figure out the cause of the problem.
The problem could be:

  • The connector cables/connections.
  • The DVD disc itself.
  • The DVD Player's optical reader (the lens which 'reads' the DVDs).
  • The TV.

The connector cables/connections

Before doing anything, check all your connector cables. Make sure that all connections are in properly, and that the cables are in the right place.
One of the most important connections is the cable that runs between your TV and the DVD Player. If it isn't in place, then your TV can't read the information from the DVD Player and the film won't appear on your TV.

The DVD disc itself

Check for scratches, chips, smudges and any other marks. Test the disc isn't the problem by trying a different one in the player. If the new disc works, then the first one might need replacing.

The TVTry changing channels. Lots of TV's have a default channel specifically for DVD players. Have a look between the channels to see if the DVD menu appears.
On modern televisions, especially those connected to Digi-boxes or Sky Boxes, there's usually a 'Source' button on the remote control. Find it and go through until you reach the right setting for playing DVDs. To go back to watching normal TV channels after the DVD has finished, go back to the source button and change back to the original source.

That should be all you need to know to get your DVD player working with your TV
if none of above works then try putting a lens cleaner through it to try and clean the lens that reads the disc.

SOURCE: reading but DVD is not spinning in portable dvd player

Some suggestions assuming you know you're using good discs, and have this problem with more then 1 disc. In anything that requires you to open the player and play around in it, I also assume you're not too akward with electronics, and out of warranty: spindle motor problems - you could either fix that by changing the motor, or occasionaly by dropping a little bit of 3 in 1 oil on the shaft. Just dont start it as a hobby if you can still go complain at the store... Good luck

SOURCE: Grundig TV - Tuning DVD & VCR

Hi there!
If the DVD recorder has an RF out then you should be able to tune it on UHF bandwidth. The cable should run from the RF Out on the recorder to RF on the TV. Switch the recorder on, put in a DVD and press play before tuning. Some DVD's require a disc before a Menu appears. Good Luck, Regards, JUS004

SOURCE: DVD player wont work with TV

First, make sure that the units are connected properly * I know it's obvious, but I did it myself one day * Then on your T.V. remote, try hitting INPUT and it should run on your VIDEO channel.
This will work 99.99% of the time. Let me know,
Thanks

The LCD should have a Source button. This will select the AV input.Using the right arrow instead of "OK" button should help select your input.

Perhaps it isn't connected properly or the TV is not set on the proper channel to view from an accessory.

I have a Sony CD/DVD player DVP-FX810, and after putting in disc, it spins, but I've got no picture or audio. Any ideas?

It appears your player is not configured to TV. Switch on the TV and switch on the DVD. Insert the DVD/CD disc. Press the input button on the TV remote control. Keep pressing till you start viewing the picture. It generally depends to which video in put you have connected the input cables from DVD

Dvd wont play just spins

Usual suspects (I have seen each one of these):
1. Home-made DVD defective
a- bad blank
b- bad burn (software settings incorrect)
c- not finalized
d- bad DVD recorder
2. Commercial DVDs - very scratched near center hole where startup data lives
3. Dirty laser lens on DVD player
4. Bad circuitry in DVD player (repairs almost always cost more than a new player)

After i put the dvd the movie does not see anything only the black screen and i let it load for a long time

>Do you hear Sound

>make sure all the connection on the TV and DVD player are secure.
>is your DVD players Menu on screen/visible before U insert a dvd
>check the players menu and the settings
>unplugged the DVD player from the power cord wait and the try it
>plug the dvd into a different tv if possible if that works then your tv was the problem just locate the tv settings to fix that
>still no luck than maybe you DVD players laser just needs to be cleaned
>use a self-cleaning DVD clean kit (really cheap too) and they work great it is just a cd that has a tiny brush on the disk as it spins a passes over the EYE to clean it .

Stuck in Progressive Scan Mode...please help!

There should be a switch on the DVD player that is makred 'progressive/interlaced.' You need to flick this switch til it says interlaced, as obviously your TV cannot view progressive signals. It may be on the back of the player, or under a flap on the front.

Are you trying to record TV signal onto a DVD, or are you playing back? What make & model is your TV and DVD player/recorder?

No picture on Television

You have provided incomplete information. What do you mean by 'dvd player works'? Do you mean you are able to view the DVD movies on the TV? Or does it mean that there is power and various lights and indicators on the DVD player? If you are unable to see picture - both while viewing DVDs and also Broadcast channels, then there is a major problem with the TV.Get a professional to have a look, then. But if you are able to view DVD movies, but unable to view broadcast channels, then it is a simple problem of input selection. In this case just select the TV/Video or TV/AV button on your remote, if there is such a button. If no, then use the menu and scroll for input, and then select Tuner. First clearly state what your problem is. Only then we can give you better advice.
