The 55 " screen doesn't show the entire broadcast picture

While watching a football game, the scores that are shown on the bottom of the screen are not fully visible and the block of score and downs to the right are also only partially visible in the Just Scan mode. Normal and Cinema modes are worse.

Try going to video settings on your tv. Change settings to 4:3/16.9/auto. Some times even panorama view can create this problem.

Instead of trying to make the TV display the picture the right size I suggest you adjust it at the source. If it is a cable box or sat box there should be a display adjust capability to size the display to the native resolution of your TV.

SOURCE: Can't see scrolling text or sport scores

Here's how to fix it - I have a PF 2425, and it's driven me absolutely up the wall. Videogames are useless because you can't even see the crucial gauges etc. Likewise, subtitles and credits in films are cut off. it's ridiculous, especially considering how easy it is to fix (if you know how).

1. Decrease volume to 0.
2. Press MUTE so the tv says "MUTE" onscreen.
3. Hold MUTE on the REMOTE and MENU on the TV simultaneously until the service menu appears.

It's important not to screw around here too much. Use your arrows on the remote to navigate, the first option likely will say "MENU.0" or something like that. Use that to flip through the pages. What you're looking for are values like V Zoom, V Scroll, etc. Same goes with the H values. Toy with these a little and you'll be able to get the tv scanning perfectly.

I can confirm this worked for me! So good luck.

SOURCE: The score on some football games doesn't display

I suspect you have the TV set to Smart or Expand picture mode. Go into the menu and re set the screen size to 16 X 9.
Hope that helps.

SOURCE: I have a Pioneer SD

Hi,

It's likely that you've changed the screen format to a different ratio. There should be a button on your original Pioneer remote, marked "MODE" with "SCREEN" written above.

The change the screen ratio, put your TV on a channel where you can see sports scores or the news tickers, then press the "MODE" button repeatedly until they are the correct size and in the correct position. Each successive press of the "MODE" button will cycle through the options for "NATURAL WIDE", "CINEMA WIDE", "ZOOM", "FULL" and "NORMAL"

I suspect you have accidentally pressed the "MODE" button and are in "ZOOM" mode. You probably need to be in either "FULL" or "NORMAL" modes depending on your viewing requirements.

It may also be necessary to adjust the vertical (V) position on the picture. If you have changed the mode settings as above but it's still not correct, please post back if you need information on changing the picture position.

Regards,
BElectric

Vizio M55------- will not show football scores, time, info

Find the Aspect ratio button on the TV remote. Press it a number of times to cycle through the options. Stop when the picture is the shape you want.

Have a read of your TV manual. Stuff like this is detailed in there.

The score on football games on fox and cbs are halfway off the screen. How do I fix this?

Hello

It is likely that you have the "picture size" set to a mode that does not match what the channel is actually providing.

Go to the Menu options on your TV and then look for the Picture options. Change the size between the different options (typically 16:9, 4:3, Wide, Fit to Screen, etc.) and see which mode works best for the Fox and CBS broadcasts.

It is likely you have the TV set to Wide or Fit to Screen. Both change the settings to make 4:3 broadcasts fill the screen of a wide screen TV. Changing this to 16:9 should allow you to see the information on the sides and bottom of the screen again.

I am having a problem with my new vizio tv. I am

Try this solution....

1) On the original TV remote press the menu button.
2) Scroll down to SETUP and press MENU button to select it.
3) Scroll down to WIDE
4) Use the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys to adjust to your viewing preference.

**** NOTE: When you adjust these settings you may notice a difference in the picture on the HD channels. When you are viewing an HD channel but the network is not broadcasting that show in HD they push in the sides to compensate and try to make it a sharper picture but know this is normal.

Good Luck and please rate this solution....

My Pioneer 55 inch screen tv SD-P5553 has a solid black horizonta

This sounds like a picture mode issue. You maybe in a ZOOM mode. Try adjusting your set to FULL mode. If you are using a Sat receiver or cable box, some of these may have picture viewing mode as well, wich may need to be set in FULL or NORMAL viewing mode.

Good Luck!

Picture size on HD is distorted.

You did not say what kind of repair work was done on your set but suspect that is was a failure in the convergence circuit. That said I also suspect that aftermarket IC's where installed that are not up to par with the originals. Good Quality IC's and undoing the adjustment already made should cure your problem with minimal labor time involved. To do a Full Convergence Alignment will cover up the problem but the IC's won't last followed by replacement again with quality parts and another full alignment.
