On a Hitachi le49s508, I changed the main board and now the picture is solarized.

Set was dead before replacing board. Changing the board fixed power-up problem, but now picture is solarized... so is there a 'set-up' that needs to be done?

The power supply board can be changed without any knowledge of repair but there are sometimes adjustments necessary if the picture is not normal. Many times it is fine. There a 4-5 voltage adjustments that would take some knowledge and a meter to accomplish. You need to hope it was diagnosed properly first. If it is completely dead the p.s is a good possibility. If it clicks on then back off almost immediately it is not likely the power supply.

bottom gear go straight up top gear sets about 2oclock thers a small hole in the gear too line up with a hole in the head use a small drill bit too check this!!!!

I had the same problem with same model TV a year back, they replaced some board (I was not there at home) as I had warranty and after a year same issue popped up again.. Can you please tell me what board replacement worked for you. I don't have warranty anymore.

Generally this is a tcon issue however if the set worked ok before the main board failed I'd have to think you have a bad replacement main, make sure the LVDS contacts are clean

Fault with the main power supply [SMPS] board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Hatachi tv model #le49s508 manual

The Hitachi LE49S508 red LED lights up when the TV is in standby mode. The LED will be off when the TV is on or has no power. If you haven't tried the front panel buttons, check if the TV will turn on when you press the lowest button (Power) on right side of the TV. If this works and your remote doesn't, you may have a problem with the remote or the IR receiver. (You can check the remote by having someone take a picture of the front of the remote when you press a button. There should be a flare of light visible in the picture.) If your current source is a PC, make sure that the computer is on and hasn't gone to sleep. Otherwise, the TV main board is not getting power from the power supply or not responding correctly to the commands.

Hitachi 49 LED TV Le49s508 Main Board not working

It could be the eprom but its a difficult part to replace without a lot of soldering experience, I would change the board. Measure the PSON or PWRON, or how ever they have it labeled to see if you have a voltage change there when the power button is pushed.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Hitachi 53udx10b screen is dark, very blue and red. there is a red wave across the top of the screen. there is a blue "ghosting" of any text on screen.

The tv have a problems known as a convergence picture problems,it is dead.Tv set have any colors lines R,G,B mis alignments,have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike?Yes,than the tv convergence board it is dead to causes all these problems.Now the tv set convergence board must have to be repair like replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv set convergence board to solved the tv set convergence pictures promblems.The tvs shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
