My samsung ht-wp38 Home Theater System will not turn on after a storm hit our area and we lost power for 36 hrs. Could this be a fuse problem or something else? How do I identify and fix this?

SOURCE: Lost Remote for my Durabrand HT-395 Home Theater Systom

There are no codes you program into the remotes unless they are learning remotes. If you did the manual search for the code, then the universal remote will not work on that unit I'm afraid. You see you are not entering the code into the remote when you push the numbers the book tells you to. What you are doing is accessing the pre programed codes that are already programed into the remote. You cannot add any codes for universal remotes unless like I said before, they are called learning type remotes. Those cost loads of cash. Good Luck

SOURCE: HOME THEATER SAMSUNG HT-Q100

Your systemn is designed and built to perform 2.1 sound. If you want 5.1 sound you can do 2 things, connect another pair of speakers to the same speakerterminal as your front speakers, however this produces 5.1 stereo sound and not 5.1 surround sound.
You can buy a new system that has the proper connections.

This set will not have the proper decoding software to produce 5.1 surroundsound. sorry.

SOURCE: HT-WP38 Samsung Digital Home Theater System

A lot of electronics equipment these days are designed to **** out prematurely. The replacement parts (if you can find them) are usually priced so high that it is cheaper to buy new. Of course, that's what they want you to do. So, the only real solution is to go buy another unit and hope it lasts, or take the time and money to build yourself a good system. If you decide to buy new, before buying go to Google and type in the product name and number and follow it the words like "reviews", or "problems"

If you want know how to choose components for a good system, post back here, I'll be glad to help you.

You have probably set the sleep timer. Here's how to switch it off: To cancel the sleep timer, press the SLEEP button until <OFF> appears on the display.

How do you fix rear check fault on samsung htc5550w blueray

It means that your wireless rear speakers can not be detected by the 'radio' on the bluray player. Move your wireless receiver (the one the rear speakers connect to) closer to the player or put it in a place where it has a 'clear line of sight' with the player. Should solve it!

Does it have a fan in the back? Is it spinning? If it does have a fan that is not spinning, you may be able to replace it. Another possibility is a short in the speaker wiring, check the wires to make sure that a strand or wire is not contacting another wire...

Optical Cable input not working

It is likely that the optical fiber inside the cable is broken, it is really sensible and gets damaged easily. I'd try changing the cable before even opening the home theater.
