SOURCE: Craftsman 3x21 plastic front roller needs replacing

Do you know anyone with a metal lathe or that works in a machine shop? If you do ask them if they can make the rollers for you out of metal. Or else find a machine shop and ask them to make you new rollers.

SOURCE: I just need to know how to remove and replace the drive pulley on the DeWalt 432 belt sander.

You need a Screwdriver (Phillips) and a pair of Pliers... Get the Pulley FIRST, Take the screws out and split the case, you will see the Pulley. Replace the Pulley and reassemble

Testimonial: "The pulley will be here in a couple of days and then I will try it. Thanks! "

How to install drive roller on my makita 9401 belt sander

DONT forget to order and replace also allways the sinter bearingbus on the machine because to protect you from a dissapointment because otherwise the belt will turns off and cant be (good) controlled again , replace the drive roller allways and clean the front roller axle if its only dirt on the front roller use a little sillicon grease film on the front behind can use a little bit more sillicon grease between the axle rings and new bearing bus. remove the dry grease in the driving gear space and renew the lubricant in it with a multipurpose grease .

I ran over the cord on my belt sander

if you give me the model number I will find a replacement cord for you. The way I remove this cord is a pair of pliers and you have to "pull" the cord out of the roller if it is stuck there. Let me know how I can help

I accidently ran over the cord with my DW430R 5.2 Amp belt sander and it's wedged so tightly between the wheel and sander body and I can't get it out.

If you release the belt that would give you more room to get the cord out. When you releas the belt it brings the rollers together which loosens the belt.

I have a Porter Cable Model 371 2.5" X 14" Belt Sander. I broke a belt, when I did it jammed and also broke a rubber sleeve that covers the Drive Wheel. I have yet to find this rubber sleeve in any part...

Unfortunatly that sleeve is not available, you will need to purchase a whole new drive wheel. The Drive wheel is $9.66 from DeWalt Service Net. Porter Cable, Delta & DeWalt are all owned by Stanley Black & Decker, you can contact DeWalt Factory Service for all parts. 1-800-4-DeWalt You can order the parts on-line, over the phone or though a local service center. The website is www.dewaltservicenet.com Below is the parts diagram for your sander. The part number for the drive wheel is A16439

The belt slips off my Belt Sander

All sander will have two adjustments. The first is to release the sanding belt by retracting the position of one of the rollers. The second adjustment moves one of the rollers belt tension from side to side. The roller angular position is changed, sometime by a single knob or screw, and sometimes by two separate adjusting screws.

Motor runs but the drive drum that hold the sanding belt does not turn.

Instead of removing the drum, remove the belt and the cover over the gearbox. The gearbox cover is normaly fixed in place by screws around the drive pulley. There may be a couple of screws under the pulley, if so they can be accessed via holes in the pulley wheel itself. Check for worn or stripped gears. These gears can be replaced if need be, but if this is the case make sure you remove and clean out all the grease first and replace that aswell as it may contain bits of teeth that have come off the faulty gear. As far as I know belt sander drive rollers can not be removed without removing the drive inside the gearbox first.
