Is the picture looks like ) ( then the east west circuit is broken and must be repaired,if the picture looks like ( ) then you can realign this in the SAM.

First check if your zoom is on..if it is switch back to normal setting. If picture is still cropped with no zoom then try go to the menu seen string and check for aspec ratio..try different sttings..
It sounds that you have to enter its service mode to adjust both vertical and horizontal position of the picture. To Philips brand TVs, entering service mode [SAM] mode, and adjusting data values there must be done cautiously. Really it is a skilled work indeed. It will be best to contact any service technician. Not easy with a older set----look to see if a physical control exists in the set for Vertical size (picture too tall) and the adjustment may only exist in a hidden on screen menu.
Sounds like you may have the wrong lamp. Make sure you purchased a Philips lamp that's 100% compatible with your television model. Philips pioneered that lamp, so naturally they make 100 different types for DLPs and LCD projections.
You may have an elliptical lamp instead of parabolic. The lamp for your TV should read P22h.
