SOURCE: no display on microwave touchpad for ge Model JKP62G

The GE JKP62G Microwave / Oven combination has an internal fuse behind the control panel for the microwave. The oven will operate but the microwave will be totally dead (no light, no clock). Turn off the breaker for the oven at the fuse box (30 Amp double breaker). In order to replace the fuse you will have to open the door to the microwave, remove the two screws (Torx) from the front control panel (located on the left edge of the control panel), wiggle the panel to the left (there are two metal tabs that stick into the metal frame of the microwave on the right of the panel) and then tilt the panel down from the top. There is a metal bracket that holds the control panel to the microwave at the bottom (don't remove it). Look towards the top of the microwave inside the area behind the control panel and you will see a 15 Amp screw in fuse. Replace the fuse and that should fix your problem.

SOURCE: I have a GE Profile Spacemaker Microwave Touch Pad does not work

Sadly, GE does not make individual parts available for these controllers, so they cannot be repaired.

You have to replace the control panel sub-assembly (part number WB07X10733 in your case) and the best price I've found on that is $370.32 here (compared to $483.25 direct from GE).

In my opinion, this does not do much to inspire brand loyalty...

Or you may be able to find a whole oven on eBay for about that or less.

Sorry to bear bad news. Good luck.

SOURCE: GE model JVM2070SK02 touch pad not working

Most people, and GE will tell you these are not repairable and you must replace the whole unit for $300 - 500. I can fix them. If you are interested, let me know. [email protected] I can only fix the touchpad not working and it must not be physically damaged. You must be able to take out the control panel and send it to me. It is easy (3 screws and electrical connectors).

I get error F7 on GE oven.

Hi.

F7 on GE ovens means that there is a poor contact to keypad detected. When this happens the problem is either keypad or control panel.

Problem is fixed testing keypad and control assembly and replacing the faulty part.

Here the procedure to test the parts:

Hold down the CLEAR/OFF button on pad.
Disconnect the ribbon cable connecting control panel to pad and wait about one or two minutes to see if the code comes back.

If the code comes back, then you likely need to replace control assembly.
If the code does not re-appear on display, then the problem is with the key pad. In that case replace the key pad.

The procedure is only indicative. In case of faulty control assembly procedure may not be a definitive test. In that case replace the control pad first.

Oven temperature is inaccurate and takes a long time to heat to proper temp. I have replaced thermostat with no improvement.

To Adjust the Thermostat

  1. Touch the BROIL HI/LO and BAKE pads at the same time for 3 seconds until the display shows SF.
  2. Touch the BAKE pad. A two digit number shows in the display.
  3. Touch BAKE again to alternate between increasing and decreasing the oven temperature.
  4. The oven temperature can be adjusted up to (+) 35°F (19°C) hotter or (-) 35°F (19°C) cooler. Touch the number pads the same way you read them. For example, to change the oven temperature 15°F (8°C), touch 1 and 5.
  5. When you have made the adjustment, touch the START pad to go back to the time of day display. Use your oven as you would normally.

I have a ge profile oven and F7 is appearing where the degrees usually appear. Nothing will work on the oven

You have a stuck keypad. You can try pushing every pad several times at random to try and clear it. If that does not work, you have to replace the keypad control.

Claibrating the temperature of a GE gas oven

First of all, do not use the oven thermometers from a grocery store. they can be off by 20 degrees or more. These directions may help you for electronically controlled ovens. The older manually controlled ovens have a small screw head in the center of the oven temperature knob that can be adjusted in usually 10 degree increments.

To Adjust the Thermostat
Touch the Bake and Broil Hi/Lo pads
at the same time for 3 seconds until the
display shows SF.
Touch the Bake pad. A two digit number
shows in the display.
Touch Bake once to decrease (-)
the oven temperature, or twice to
increase (+).
The oven temperature can be adjusted
up as much as 35°F. or down as much
as 35°F. Touch the number pads the
same way you read them. For example,
to change the oven temperature 15°F,
touch 1 and 5.
When you have made the adjustment,
touch the Start pad to go back to the
time of day display. Use your oven as
you would normally.
NOTE: The thermostat adjustment for Baking
will also affect Convection Baking or Convection Roasting.
