Mitsubishi ws65513 rear projection tv not powering up

The unit will not power up, front panel led continually blinks. i had a tech come in and i was told that the signal/deflector module was defective, he checked the power supply and said it was good, was he "snowing" me?
i looked at the module and besides removing a few screws and disconnecting a few ribbon cable connectors, it looks like a simple r & r process. if the diagnosis is accurate, where can i buy or have rebuilt this module? and once replaced, are there any adjustments that need to be made?

We have a Mitsubishi WS-55613 55" rear projection tv which was working fine until this weekend. Turned it on and the only thing that happens is the green light on front continues to blink. We have tried unplugging and starting over, and also using the reset button. Nothing helps. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We tried to access the Chris & Nat site, but were unsuccessful.

As you stated, I replaced the 4 caps in the DM module, the only concern was the original caps were 1000mf 16v vs. the 100mf 25v which was recommended and I installed, Is there a cause to be concerned? I also cleaned the lenses and mirrors, and TV picture looks great! Thank you for your advice!

  • Abelardo Dec 02, 2007

Yes, my mistake, they were 1000mf 25v caps, i thought that the 25v would be an upgrade, Thank you so much for your help, the tv looks/works awesome! Just in time for the football games!

It's been about 10 yrs. since i've done any component repair/ replacement ( I was a data systems tech. in the navy) it took a little while longer than i remember it should, but once i got into it, it wasn't too bad to do. Again thank you very much for your help!

Thanks [email protected] I was able to solve the Blinking problem on my Mitsubishi TV (ws65613). The instructions are easy to follow. Only, I had to be very cautious to desolder and solder the capacitors. Chris, thanks again.

    bigjune62,

Great report ! .............Hopefully you installed 1000mf....not100..

As to the voltage rating...25v is recommended to improve reliability ....common practice for knowledgable technicians....

16v would be minimum voltage rating in this case.............T.

    Sherry9,

Sorry the ChrisandNat site didn't help....the solution is as posted

Mitsubishi rear projection tv when plugged in power led blinks 3 times then when i switch it on remains powered for about 2 seconds before switching back off again...

DO THE SELF CHECK THIS SET HAS: WHEN POWER LIGHT GOES OUT-----ON FRONT OF SET PRESS AND HOLD BOTH THE MENU AND INPUT BUTTONS FOR AT LEAST 5 SECONDS AND RELEASE BOTH BUTTONS. The power light will blink a two digit error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and then repeat the code several times. Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means. IF this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free. SD TECH

Green light on front rapidly blinks after power outage. No picture, or can't turn on

This unit, when first plugged in or after power interuption takes 70 to 90 seconds for the digital module to boot up. During the time the LED blinks green and the set will not respond to anything. After the appropriate amount of time the blinking should stop and the set should operate normally. If the blinking never stops then you have to have the Digital Module repaired.

Blinking green light on front of ws55909 projection tv. have reset it by both unplugging and pushing reset button. light continues to flash. has for 2 days. can't operate tv

do this press and hold device and menu button on the front of set.. this is to retrieve a to digit error code flashed by the leds. also this set neds to "boot" let the led flash for at least 70 seconds. if it continues to blink the tv failed to boot. There is service bulliteens that states capacitors in power supply can be bad. this capacitors are kinda hard to get to and rather invovled to replace

Continual blinking green light

Thats a very common problem and very easy to fix. If your model is the WS65513 you need the Kit called V23 DM repair kit. You can get it at the following link which includes the parts and the Instruction CD that documents the repair step by step with pictures. Its listed under the repair kit category. Heres the link.

Blinking green light

SYMPTOM: Power LED does not stop blinking after plug in.
CURE: Check C9B01, C9B02, C9B03, C9B13, C9B14, C9B17 and C9B18 (1000 uFD, 16V,
105C) on the DM Power PCB located within the DM Assembly. If they are bad, replace them with
part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).
I have done one of these repairs and they are quite difficult so have a tech do this repair.

Power serge

ok First question does the led continue to blink after 70 seconds after u plug it in. it is common for a cuircit board called the dm(digital module) to go bad in these units. this set has a keyboard lockout feature. Press menu for 10 seconds on front panel. if that does not release control then u more than likely have a problem with dm module. there are several bullitens about this and several things a tech can do to repair this set
