How to brew coffee

USING YOUR PERCOLATOR
1.Wash the Percolator thoroughly before using for the first time.
(See "Cleaning Instructions" section in this manual.)

2.Remove Cover, Basket, Spreader and Pump Tube. Use cold, fresh
tap water to fill Percolator. Fill according to markings on inside
of Percolator for number of cups desired. Use cold tap water -
the automatic brewing cycle is timed to begin with a cold
water start.
NOTE: The bottom of the Pump Tube Spring marks the maximum
capacity of the Percolator.

3.Wet Coffee Basket to help keep small particles of coffee from sift-
ing through. Place Basket on Pump Tube. Add desired amount of
regular or percolator grind coffee to Basket.

4.Place Pump Tube with Basket into Percolator so bottom of tube is
set into Center Well. Place Spreader on top of Basket and snap
Cover onto Percolator. Attach cord to Percolator and plug into
standard household 120 volt AC wall outlet. Brewing begins
within seconds and continues at a cup-a-minute speed

5.When coffee brewing is complete, percolating will stop. The
Percolator automatically switches to "KEEP WARM" setting to
preserve fresh-tasting coffee at hot, ready-to-serve temperature.
For best flavor, remove Coffee Basket, Spreader and Pump Tube
when brewing is completed.

My West Bend 3520 percolator does not heat enough to actually percolate. It heats water to about 80 deg and then stops. Power cord looks fine. Any thoughts?

the thermostat isn't holding long enough to get the desired heat any longer,, it needs replacement , the parts are hard to locate, and then you need to have it replaced, so I guess it depends on if you want that done, or just get a new 12 cup one at target for around 40 bucks http://www.target.com/p/West-Bend-12-cup-Coffee-Percolator/-/A-12408458 I tried searching for the part you need, But was unable to locate it

Where can I replacement filters for a 100 cup West Bend coffee maker?

The West Bend Large Capacity Coffemakers do not use replacement filters. The manual for the West Bend 33600 Large Coffee Urn is available here:

http://www.westbend.com/supportdata/L5613B_LargeCapacityUrns-All.pdf

Use an electric perk or regular grind coffee in the percolator basket rather than a 'drip' or finely ground coffee that would require a filter.

If you require a new basket, please see the West Bend on-line replacement part site here:

West Bend 36 cup coffee maker amounts

It's a percolator. Use about 1 heaping teaspoon of coffee per cup. Each coffee pot is different. You will have to adjust the amount of coffee for what you like.

Replacement parts for a Lifetime West Bend percolator

Have you contacted Lifetime? If you google them in Niagara Falls Canada, you'll get the phone number for their Canadian warehouse...they're great and can give you the USA location for parts or help you. Too bad you don't live in Niagara...you could walk in and get it sorted immediately. I have one of these percolators and use it daily...love-love-love it.
