SOURCE: Intake/drain light blinking on Miele G841 dishwasher

I cleaned out the drain pump and non-return valve on my Miele G658/858 and that fixed the problem. The G841 may have similar parts. It's easy to do. In order: 1. Turn off washer. 2. Remove the triple filter (the basket on the bottom of washer with the little handle. Turn the handle and remove) rinse out and set-aside. 3. Remove the standing water. I used a wet vac to remove the standing water from the bottom of the machine, but you can scoop it out also. 4. Tilt the locking clamp (tilt left) to the side. (this is a metal wire covering the white plastic valve. This valve is to the right of the triple filter basket.) 5. Pull out the non-return valve and rise will under running water. You may have to wiggle the valve a little. Pull straight up and out. 6. The drain pump is beneath the non-return valve. (it has a little plastic propeller, like a paddle wheel, inside) 7. Spin the propeller several times in both directions to make sure it's clear. ( I used the shop vac with a small hose attachment to clear the drain above the propeller compartment) 8. Carefully refit the non-return valve and secure it with the locking clamp. 9. Refit and lock the filter in place.
I haven't had a problem since and my dished are much cleaner- The problem must have been coming on for a long time.
Hope this helps,
Susan

SOURCE: MACHINE STOPPED - BURNING SMELL COMING FROM WASHER

The burning smell is from your coupling and when this breaks the rubber spins across the plastic face of the opposite coupling. Your washer will not wash or spin until this is replaced. fortunately these are cheap and easy to replace. Refer to my step by step instructions to replace yours.

This would be the motor coupler that has failed common problem and easy to fix. There is a video ( whirlpool style) that will walk you thru the troubleshooting and replacement at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html

Miele G1142 dishwasher drain pump and flashing lights.

Based on the information you have provided, it seems that your Miele dishwasher is experiencing a drain pump issue, which could be causing the flashing lights and the non-stop running of the pump. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Turn off the power to the dishwasher: The first step is to turn off the power to the dishwasher by unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker. Wait for a few minutes and then turn it back on.
  2. Check the drain hose: Make sure that the drain hose is not clogged or kinked, as this could prevent the water from draining properly. If you find any blockages, remove them and test the dishwasher again.
  3. Clean the filters: Check the dishwasher's filters and make sure they are clean and free of debris. Dirty filters can cause drainage problems.
  4. Check the drain pump: If the drain pump is still running non-stop, it may be faulty and need to be replaced. Before you do this, however, make sure that the pump is not clogged with debris. You can do this by removing the pump and inspecting it for blockages.
  5. Contact Miele's customer service: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be time to contact Miele's customer service or schedule a service visit to diagnose and repair the problem.
It's important to note that attempting to repair appliances yourself can be dangerous, and you should always follow safety procedures and consult with a professional if you're unsure of how to proceed.

Drain pump runs non-stop. Continues when dial is in Stop position. When disconnected for hours, drain pump starts immediately when power restored. In any wash cycle position, drain pump runs and cycle...

sounds like the flood switch has activated.

You will have to drag the dishwasher out from under the counter after turning off the power to it. Tilt to one side so that any water collected under it is expelled. This will free up the flood switch. Wait about 30 minutes and turn the power back on.

There could be a leak of some sorts from the door seal or hoses which is causing the water to collect.

Hope this solves the problem. It is unclear why none of the lights are lighting up to show a fault condition.

Miele g 842sc plus dishwaher

hi,

most common faults with dishwashers is a drain fault. Check for any kinked hoses and check the drain spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. Usually this is where food gets trapped due to the spigot not being drilled out large enough. This then causes a blockage. Also check the non return valve under the filter and make sure the drain pump can turn freely.
Hope this helps.

Circulation pump is stuck

Hello Stonegroup,
The impeller is located below the bottom filter trap. Remove the tray and at the twelve 'O' Clock position you will see a small opening. Inside there are the pump impellers. take the Hackenschlussel (Hook spanner/Miele tool) and insert it in the opening and turn. You should turn it a few times and be able to feel the impellers free up. Also, Make sure you run the dishwasher atleast once a monch to avoid the circulation pump getting stuck like this

Miele G841 Built in. Intake/Drain light on/flashing and the dishwasher just shuts down.

I had a similar problem with a different Miele. I found that under the door, there is a removable trim panel (may not be one on yours). Under the trim panel was an acoustically sealed metal plate held by a couple of screws. i switched off and disconnected the electrity, then removed the plate. The bottom tray was filled with a big puddle. I cleaned that up and put the machine back together and it ran fine. Accordingly, I'm getting some replacement shaft seals for the thing as it looks like its worth fixing. Good luck with yours. rupertvdP

I have a Miele G841 SC Plus Novotronic Dishwasher. The Intake/Drain light is blinking and it won't work. What do I do?

I had a problem where my G842Plus dishwasher would run through the prewash and then the intake/drain light would start blinking and it wouldn't work. There would be water in the bottom of the dishwasher. After cleaning out various items to no avail, we called Miele technical support and they told us to reset the codes and then keep trying it over and over until it worked.
Here is how we reset the codes:
  • Turn dial to stop/off
  • Turn dial to Normal Plus
  • Press Start
  • Press power
  • Then press the start button for one second and let go

Intake/Drain Error

There is water collected in the inner tray of your unit. Pull out the Miele and take off the drain hose and unplug the unit. Then tilt the dishwasher back 60* and let it drain out all the water. There will be a couple of cups on the floor, but nothing too big that a couple of towles can't handle. Then reconnect everything and start up the unit. It WILL work! It just happened to me and my Miele incognito is now working like a champ again!!
