Chances are you have an issue with the main board. Those can be purchased on eBay for around $20.00. If you go the route of changing that board be sure to match the number of your board that is in the TV, don't search by model number as this model used several different boards and some are not interchangeable. One word of caution, use static precautions when handling the board, it should come in a static proof bag of wrapped in static bubble wrap ( generally pink in color) be at the set before unpacking the new board, just walking across carpet with it in your hand can damage a good board.Good luck!!

TV Connectivity
The issue of connectivity between the PS3 and the display is very complex and depends on the type of TV (Analog, Digital or HD Ready), the maker of TV (until recently, only Toshiba TVs have component AV connections as standard in Europe, most other Euro TV sets use SCART which can not carry an HD signal) and specification of TV (the very latest HD Ready TV sets have wider connectivity options than earlier HD "capable" TVs from the same manufacturer which may have lacked HDMI), and finally the configuration of the PS3 model purchased.

Try running the optical TOSLINK cable from the TV to the receiver. If the TV doen't have a digital optical output, then try going into the menu on your cable box and setting the audio output to the digital optical out. Also check your TV menu and make sure NETCOMMAND is diabled. Some of your newer HDTV have Netcommand that allows the TV to control other devices through the HDMI cable.

I think this is dependant on your graphics card in your PC. Most PC's with HDMI ports are purely for video not audio, check with your PC manufacturer/graphics card manufacturer to see if it supports audio from the HDMI port.
You may just have to link the audio from the audio output port on the PC to the reciever for audio and HDMI for video.
