Your tstat is set for gas heat not electric heat. there's either a switch on the back or it's in your configuration. you want the tstat to control the fan NOT the equipment controls the fan.

SOURCE: Carrier thermostat

I hate to say it but Ive had trouble with Carrier's Tstats doing similar improper things. Unfortunatly the only repair is going to be replacement of the whole tstat. I recommend Honeywell's FocusPRO or VisionPRO tstat. Ive yet to have one fail and they have a 5yr warranty if they ever do.

SOURCE: AC, but no heat

The clicking noise appears to be the igniter. Since it is not getting gas for some reason it will not operate and will shut down. This could be due to the burners being dirty or it could be a bad gas valve or it could be in the electronic mudule. Make sure there is gas coming into the home to the gas valve.Since you hear the igniter operating , for the time being we will assume it is ok. Clean the burners with a wire brush. Make sure they are clean. When reinstalling the burner. Make sure the igniter is directly over one of the burners in the path that the gas will take. This is important. Before attempting any repairs make sure you understand what to do and what not to do. Gas furnaces can be vary dangerous. If this is something you are not absolutely sure you can do. Get a qualified service man to repair and service the unit.You can get a qualified service man right here on this site for your area. I hope I have been of some help to you.

SOURCE: heat doesn't work on ac

You need to check if the heat strip is still good on it or that it is receiving power. If its getting power, then the strip is bad.

SOURCE: Coleman airhandler installation

Hello,George TIPS?I assume you are looking at the elements as they run.A 4 ton drive can keep active heat strips from glowing.What is your heat rise split.Meaning in/supply out/return temps?W1&W2 sequencer time delays can be up to 3 minutes.Take a AMP reading on 1 heat element supply wire with a volt meter.You can jump W1&W2 at the board for testing.

SOURCE: inside unit is working, outside cond isn't working

Hi,
Check for 24v power and for 240v power at the outdoor unit...also check to see if outdoor unit has a high pressure cutout with a manual reset..

My lennox heat pump frequently shows df and cold air pumps out for about 5 minutes then restarts. what is causing this?

Its getting too cold outside for the heatpump to operate. It must defrost the coil. You should have backup electric heat inside your airhandler, possibly not setup or possibly not even there. On your tstat in settings or set up look for heat pump with back up electric heat

Cliff, this is Teng. Look inside your furnace if there is any flashing code. If your furnace is recently installed it should have electronic control board.

This is a colemon evcon electric furnace for mobile home the blower work fine just won't put out no more heat any ideals

when the fan is operating, is the fan switch on the thermostat in "on" or "auto" position? if it\'s in the \'auto\' position, then the stat is calling for heat ok. if so, you should check the safety controls for closure...i.e., the rollout switches (if there are any) and the high limit control, you should also measure the voltage at the gas valve. if you have 22 -27 volts at the gas valve, and you have all upstream gas open, and you have gas available (not shut off by gas company), but still no fire, then you probably have a defective gas valve. otherwise, if you have a wiring diagram, it should be easy to find the problem.

I have an older Day & Night / Bryant / Carrier downdraft central heater. It was a heat only unit but has an aftermarket AC unit added onto it. I have the latest PCB that adds the AC cooling feature...

4 wire will not work properly.

You will need a 5 wire minimum.

Blue = common
green = blower fan
red = hot
white = furnace
yellow =AC

The wire from the thermostat to the airhandler would be like above.
The wire from the thermostat to the AC (via the airhandler) would be blue and yellow.
