Question about Tomtom GO 910

1 Answer

ACCESSING A NEW MAP

I live in Australia & use the GO910 with the preinstalled map of Australia. I have recently purchased & downloaded a map of North America for a holiday there from 8/12/07. I followed the procedure as described on the TomTom website, however I can't switch to the new map on the device as it only list the existing Australia Map. According to TomTomHOME programme the map file downloaded is on the device hard drive. Can anyone help accessing the North America map or have I missed something in the process??

SOUNDS LIKE YOU DOWNLOADED IT TO TOM TOM HOME AND NOT TOM TOM ITSELF. OPEN UP TOM TOM HOME AND LOCATE THE US MAPS THEN THERE SOULD BE A OPTION TO TRANSFER MAP TO TOM TOM.

Can I download fee maps for Ireland and Germany to my Tom Tom Go 60>

Hi Tracy, It depends what model gps and which country you live, I live in Australia and have a life time of maps for Australia and New Zealand and even though I'll probably never go to New Zealand every time I update my maps it automatically updates all. By-the-way a life time of maps is as long as my Navman keeps working... CHEERS..

I am trying to change my country from 'North America' to 'Australia' Please help. I deselected 'North America' in Tools, Settings, Map Info. Now not sure ?

First do you have a map of Australia on your satnav. If you have it should appear in Tools, Settings, Map, Map Info. Also it should be ticked or selected. If it's there all you have to do is:
  • Press WHERE TO
  • Press ADDRESS
  • At the top of the screen you'll see the last country selected i.e. North America and at the bottom you'll see CHANGE COUNTRY
  • Press CHANGE COUNTRY and select AUSTRALIA
If you don't have a map of Australia installed this won't work of course so you'll need to buy one from www.garmin.com

When i type in destination, I get map view instead of arrow pointing direction and showing which way to turn ect.I've tried everything to get back to driving directions , follow the arrow in the direction...

depends on which TomTom Go you have (maps preloaded only go700 and go910 no memory card slot)

This is for Go910

Tap Change preferences in the Main Menu.

(When you first start using your TomTom ONE XL, not all the buttons will be shown in the menu. Many buttons and some more advanced features are hidden because you will not need these features very often. To see all of the buttons and features, tap "Show ALL menu options" button in the Preference menu.)

then Tap "Turn off map display" button to turn off the map. Instead of seeing your position on a map in the Driving View, you will only see information about the next instruction.

you can download all TomTom manual

go to tomtom website ----> support scroll down at the right hand side click Find downloads

hope this help
