Domain Controllers-DC1 & DC2 Replication

Hi, I have a problem with my Domain Controllers. The Primary DC and the Secondary Backup DC. When i join a new computer on the network it registers very well on PDCDHCP with DNS Servers but the name doesn't replicates to the DC2DNS Server Only and again when i create a computer name/user on DC2 it replicates very well to DC1 but doing this from DC1 doesn't replicate to DC2. I have done the manual replication with Repadmin & ReplDiag Tool but still no good, Even when I try to replicate from Active Directory Sites and Services. Now what do I do in this kind of a situation. Hope you understand my points. Thank you

SOURCE: replication

You need to either use a Domain Account if you are using Windows authentication or you need to use SQL server authentication.
The reason for this is because the user account that you are using only exists on the machine that you are on not on the machine that you will be replicating to.

SOURCE: bringing old DC back

DC2 is your PDC, (previusly you BDC, but promoted to PDC when DC1 was removed from the network)
Right?
You do exactly the same as you did before:
Crank you old DC1 on the network, and force it to be the PDC again, at the same time your DC2 will demote to BDC once again.

My JVC KD-R426 keeps on saying warning check wiring and reset system. I've tried everthing but it still does the same. What must I do

Not sure if this will help any other owners since my answer is 4 years late, but this is what I found from another user. Apparently if you mess with the wiring too often, it goes in a safe mode which you need to do some button trickery to unlock the device from it's safe mode. These are the Steps.
1.Disconnect power supply
2.Press [MENU] and [UP arrow] buttons and keep holding.
3. While holding the buttons [MENU] / [UP arrow], connect the power plug again
A. The display will show "DC ERR"
*** if it still shows "Chk wiring ..." repeat the steps above until you get "DC ERR."
4. Press [UP arrow]; the display shows "DC1 ERR"
a. Press and hold [UP arrow] and it will show "DC1 OK"
5. Press [Down arrow], the screen will show "DC2"
a. Press and hold [DOWN arrow] and the display will show "DC2 0"
6. Disconnect the power from the back of the unit.
7. Remove the Face Unit.
8. Reconnect the power from the back.
9. Use a sharp object and press the [RESET] hole for 3 seconds and release.
10. Reinstall the face unit and turn on the power.

How to create domain controller

Hello,

By using the os (Windows Server, UNIX, etc) it will ask during setup if you want to make this a domain controller. Remember, networks can only 1 primary domain controller (PDC) but many backup domain controllers (BDC) choose correctly as well....BDC can be promoted to PDC. PDC have to have a reinstall.

Good Luck

Logon issue in a domain trust - Win 2003

Are you logging in through terminal services? If so you need to give the user "allow logon through terminal services" permission in group policy.

Otherwise you need to give the user "allow logon locally" permission on the domain controller.

Active directory

An application directory partition is represented by a domainDNS object with an instanceType attribute value of DS_INSTANCETYPE_IS_NC_HEAD combined with DS_INSTANCETYPE_NC_IS_WRITEABLE. This domainDNS object represents the application directory partition root (NC head), and is named similar to a regular domain partition, for example, "DC=dynamicdata,DC=fabrikam,DC=com", which corresponds to a DNS name of "dynamicdata.fabrikam.com". An application directory partition can, therefore, be instantiated anywhere a domain partition can be instantiated. There is no NetBIOS name associated with an application directory partition.

It is possible to nest application directory partitions, that is, an application directory partition can have child application directory partitions. Searches with subtree scope rooted at an application directory partition head will generate continuation references to the child application directory partitions.

An application directory partition replica can only be created on a domain controller that is running on Windows Server 2003 and later and only while the Domain-Naming FSMO role is held by a Windows Server 2003 and later domain controller. In a mixed forest that has both Windows Server 2003 domain controllers and down-level domain controllers (Windows 2000 domain controllers or Windows NT 4.0 primary domain controllers), an attempt to create an application directory partition replica on a down-level domain controller will fail.

An application directory partition also has a corresponding crossRef object in the Partitions container of the configuration partition. The crossRef can be pre-created manually before creating the domainDNS object. The pre-created crossRef object must have the attribute values shown in the following table or the partition creation will fail. If the crossRef object does not exist, the Active Directory server will create one when the application directory partition is created.

Replication problem

Hi

You are not given a full information in your question, maximum replication problems comes with DNS and Group Policies. If you have any previous System state Backups, restore in both the servers. i think it will resolve your problem. Next time any problem comes give full specifications.

The File Replication Service has detected that the replica set "DOMAIN SYSTEM VOLUME (SYSVOL SHARE)" is in JRNL_WRAP_ERROR.

Make sure and keep copies of all the folders and files.
Take these actions to resolve your problem:
On all Active Directory registered domain controllers:
1. Stop NETLOGON Service
2. Stop File Replication Service (NTFRS)
On the PDC Emulator:
1. Rename all files in the %systemroot%\ntfrs folder and subfolders (change their extension to .old).
2. Give an unlisted account full control of the directory %systemroot%\SYSVOL folder and reset permissions on all child objects.
3. Change the registry key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\ntfrs\paramaters\Backup/Restore\Process at Startup\BurFlags (REG_DWORD) = D4 (The default on this is 0)
4. Start the NETLOGON Service
5. Start the NTFRS Service
On all non-PDC emulators:
1. Change the registry key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\ntfrs\paramaters\Backup/Restore\Process at Startup\BurFlags (REG_DWORD) = D2
2. Start the NETLOGON Service
3. Start the File Replication Service (NTFRS)
At this point, the system in question should have recreated the SYSVOL share and the NETLOGON share. Check this by running 'net share' from a command prompt. You should also see the Group Policy Objects listed in the SYSVOL directory as:
%systemroot%\SYSVOL\domain_name\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}
%systemroot%\SYSVOL\domain_name\Policies\{6AC1786C-016F-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}
There may be more directories listed here, but these are the Default Domain Policy and the Default Domain Controllers Policy that are installed by default when the Active Directory is created. If these are being replicated, then file replication is functioning.
If you cannot find these directories, then you may have to manually recreate them. Here is a list of the proper directory structure of the %systemroot%\SYSVOL folder:
\SYSVOL
________\domain
________________\DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory
________________\Policies
________________\Scripts
________\scripts
________\staging
________\staging areas
________________\domain_name
________\sysvol (shared as SYSVOL)
________________\domain_name
________________________\DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory
________________________\Policies
________________________\Scripts (shared as NETLOGON)
If you have to manually recreate the directories, restart the File Replication Service (NTFRS) on all domain controllers to re-enable replication. This should get the file replication functioning normally

What is replication

replication is just having a copy of your data. Replication is a constant or daily activity...not once a month. It allows you to have a backup plan should your primary plan fail. I am sure there is more technical explanations, but that is basically it. What r u trying 2 do?
