Gaggia Titanium Multiple Problems--

Initially very low to almost no flow thorough coffee. Then we started getting ventilate message. Had a hard time getting that to clear. Once is was finally cleared it was recommended to try the rinse cycle. No water was coming out with rinse cycle, so we turned machine off. Now, can't get out of rinse cycle, and brew unit locked in place. Help with teardown/suggestions to repair?

SOURCE: My gaggia titanium says it's brew unit is blocked

Try cleaning and relubing the brew unit.
If that fails you require a new main board.

SOURCE: Gaggia Titanium - can't get it to move beyond

Select "Hot Water" and open the steam valve. Let it pump water out the steamer for awhile. It usually clears right away but may need to pump a lot of water to clear the error.

If you aren't able to get any water coming out the steam nozzle, you may need to prime the pump with the little squeezy tool they gave you with the machine - or you can use a turkey baster. Mainly you are trying to get water up into the pump to prime it (get the air out of the pump) so it can pump water instead air.

If you make a pre-ground shot but don't put any coffee in it, and it does the same thing you have a blockage in the brew head.
If it run normally, your grind is to fine. Turn the grinder knob to a larger number. It takes 3 times to change to the new grind.
If it still dribbles, remove the brew unit (behind the door)
Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the frontside towards the door. 2 screws (some have 3) hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold. Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (becareful, there is a spring and inside a steel ball (don't loose it or your out of luck). Turn the brew unit upside down while holding the brew head in your other hand and the steel ball should fall out. If it doesn't come out put a towel down and tap the brew unit on the towel. This should force it out.
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember thumbscrew, DON'T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.....
Once the screen is out look at where the screen was. There are 2 holes. 1 big one in the center and a small one to the side.
Now use air to blow back through the opening where the steel ball was to clear the opening. Once its open, clean then reassemble. Brew unit on towel right side up. Drop the steel ball in first. Then the spring.
Then place the manifold on top of that with the pipe towards the door. Insert your screws (I turn them backwards a little with a little downward pressure until they feel like they drop into the threads. They should turn down easily, if not back them up a little more ( we are trying to find the old threads) and tighten. Install screen, and tighten with your fingers. The screen just needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head.
Run another pre-ground without the coffee and rinse it out. Do this once in a while to prevent this.

Hi,

If you open the steam knob and only can get a half cup of water, then your flow meter in the machine have to be replaced.

If you need to replace the flow meter then it has spare part number: 286473300

Make sure to descale your machine often.

My Gaggia Titanium has an ventilate problem when it is stil cold. After starting up, autotest and running pump, it appears whit message ventilate. It takes a long time steaming or hot water after the

The ventilate sign appears as an error message to tell operator that the flow of water is reduced. I can tell that the machine has not been descaled or was descaled using unscrupulous products that are labeled as descaler but they are not.
Because the sign disappears at this time after flushing water through the steam pipe, the flow restores the sensing that water is flowing normal. This "apparent restoration" of water flow is without any back pressure. The espresso function is restored for limited use.
This error code if not corrected immediately, it will not disappear and not allow any function even after flushing water manually.
The flow meter registers the quantitative flow of water as programmed for espresso.
Please descale the machine as soon as possible. before the 'Ventilate' error message stops all functions.
This is a well designed machine. Needs more attention to maintenance.

Descaling cycle will not run

You need to push the hot water button on the machine panel to allow water to run out of the steam wand. After a few seconds the machines ventilate message should clear.

HI If you have a restriction in the intake line the message will not go away. There is a flow meter inside the machine that measures water flow. If the flow meter does not spin when the pump is running, the computer thinks that the pump is not primed. Coffee grounds will get into the intake and restrict the flow meter. If you get a restriction in the water intake (below the water tank, on the machine) the pump may run and water comes out, but the flow meter does not create the jet of water needed to spin the turbine wheel to send impulses to the computer. You get the ventilate message. One thing to remember is when you are working on the water system (have the water tank off) do not fill the bean hopper and visa versa. Keep them covered when working on the other. Cross contamination will damage a machine fast

Can't get rid of ventilate message on titanium plus machine

Try this, after opening hot water valve, push the knob in when it asks for ventilate. If that works then contact your nearest gaggia distrubutor and ask for a new stainless steel steam valve assembly.
