SOURCE: Sega Game Gear

try adjusting the brightness knob on the system. i once had that same problem with mine. The ccfl tube (the main battery drain problem in most portables) might be burnt out or something. You can replace it with LED's i think.

SOURCE: my sega game gear sound has no sound how can i fix it!

might need a new headphone jack due to rough handling or a new volume pot. try plugging in headphones and wriggling them gently to see if you get sound, if that does not work try fiddling the volume knob, whichever gives a burst of sound will show you which needs to be replaced.

How to fix a stuck button on game gear

This is an easy fix. Open the Game Gear by removing the back panel. Take off the front panel, and the buttons and pads will come up. Remove the pads and buttons and clean the pads, buttons with alcohol, to remove the dirt and gunk around the buttons and pads . When finished replace the cover. Test the system. If the pads do not respond to the game, the pads may be worn down and may need replacing. There is a website called Ifixit that has the parts for the Game Gear. Go to ifixit.com to get the parts. Or go to Sega.com for help. Also call 1-800-872-7342. This is the number for SEGA . Hope this information helps.

Anyone know where I can get Owners manual for Sega Game Gear? Prefer free, on fixed income.

Try putting an ad up on craigslist...or browsing ebay. I'd imagine these things are dirt cheap by now!
