Take the pump out and haul it outside and spray it off and check in the bottom of the pump to make sure there isn't anything stuck in there. then shop vac the bottom of the tank out to make sure there isn't anything funky in there that would get clogged in the pump. sometimes the out let line gets clogged as well you can buy a drain king ( it's a rubber deal that hooks on the end of a hose and when you turn water on it swells up and sprays water out) then stick it in the outlet pipe and let her rip and see if it lets the water through.

We have a saniflo. We were out, and our babysitter (who isn't familiar with saniflos) was in the bathroom and suddenly she said water was flooding out of the toilet - she said she had heard a loud noise...

If the apple core was right at the pump intake at the time the pump kicked on it very well may have been the problem. The pumps in those units are not the strongest in the world anyway. They are not made to grind up anything that has any bulk to it.

So the answer to the question in my opinion is yes. But you well want to keep a close eye on it for a while.

Hi, We resently had our water supply freeze up,

Yes,

Stop using it. Sounds like the "Impeller" is going bad or broken. There are replacement parts or you may buy another ejection tank.

it may have something stuck in the blade (on top of motor) or the impeller (at bottom of motor) to get to the impeller the motor complete will have to be removed out of the pump casing. Also check the discharge pipe for any obstructions. Also there is a pump cover plate located at the bottom of the motor and it will cause the unit to make a loud grinding noise if anything is stuck in there.

NOISY SANIFLO

Always an issue, guessing it is on a tiled floor? or up against a tiled wall?

I put some thin foam / Bubble wrap underneath and behind mine to dampen the vibrations. It also helps if you box the unit in and use foam to quieten the noise (on top and around the unit). Depending upon how long you have had it, it may also need a clean out or possibly even the motor bearings are getting a bit worn, creating some noise with the excess movement.

Good Luck

It really sounds like something that shouldn't be there is in the macerator/ejector. If you are not familiar with the internal workings, call the plumber who installed it. Best case scenario, it is just something that needs to be removed. Worst case scenario, the macerator/ejector and motor bearings are shot and need to be replaced.

Sounds like a restriction in the outlet pipe, the 2 galls from a flush are OK but the bath or shower is more, especiallly if you have flushed before you shower, try drain unblocking chemicals or flushing the outlet pipe with mains water from a hose
