If I turn up the temp controls in both the water that dripped into the 'fridge' at the back, freezes. If I set the controls atI've reset the freezer to 2.5 and it doesn't drip water below but I hear loud clunks/thuds every so often during the day. 'normal' settings as per the manual, the water drips down into a catch container I placed there and it doesn't freeze. However even at the higher control in the 'fridge' part the temp. doesn't feel as cold as it should. Is the freezer not defrosting (ie loud clunks/thuds) and it may be the defrost heater assembly that is defective? Or may there be a drain plug ice block/build up and therefore a thermistor transducer problem? In past days since I raised the temps there is hardly any drips in the fridge part. Help?

the drain tube is clogged or maybe frozen, remove the restriction and you will have no more problem

The problem is the defrost drain trough is plugged with ice. You will have to turn off the refrigerator, remove the freezer back panel and use a baby aspirator to help you apply and remove hot water to melt the ice. Then insert the aspirator in the drain hole to blow out any thing that may have gotten lodged inside. You will hear the water draining now to the pain underneath the refrigerator. Hope that helps you, good luck!!

Your refrigerator has a defrost drain blockage behind the evaporator in your your freezer compartment. Some models like yours have leak in the turns as the water leaves the freezer. I recommend that you unplug and remove the cover to the evaporator and check the defrost condensate tray below the evaporator. A wet vacuum cleaner and poring a solution with clorox in the drain will help you clean locate the leak and where the blockage may be downline.. I do have the manual on yours and can help you solve this. Some times this is a factory defect and I can help you solve the freezing drain problem. Let me know, Sea Breeze
