How can I calculate depth of field for an Olympus OM-D EM10-Mark 11 camera without having a cellphone app downloaded? Is there a setting built into the camera? If so, what is it called, where is it?

Depth of field depends on the lens fitted and the aperture used - have you looked in the manual ?

yes, use manual setting and stop down your aperture setting. This was probably f/2,8 or even 2,0. You'll need more light though or other wise a slower shutter speed to compensate for the more closed down aperture. This is a standard issue with macro and worse off with digital due to the inherent relatively narrower DOF that comes with a small image sensor.

SOURCE: Calculated field in Excel pivot

Count will only work with numbers. So select another box where you want your number and use this formula: =count(x:x) This should give the count number then you will need to find the difference. In another box, use =sum(x-x). This should give you your difference.

If this helps you, please rate me. Thanks, Patty

SOURCE: olympus om-2 cvamera lenses

You are able to use your old OM lenses with a new Olympus digital SLR camera. You will need to purchase an MF-OM 1 lens adapter to be able to connect these lenses to the digital SLR camera. Also when using these lenses you will only be able to use the camera in manual focus mode as these lenses are not capable to shhot with an auto focus mode.

SOURCE: Olympus OM-4 stuck shutter

This is very common on many OM SLRs and is caused by dirty shutter magnets. If you look on the web you can find details on how to do this yourself, but as the OM-4 is top of the line I'd highly recommend getting it done professionally as part of a CLA (clean lubricate adjust) service. Last time I had it done in the UK it cost about £80 and when I had it done to my OM-2SP in the USA last year it cost just under $100.

SOURCE: Nikon FA depth of field preview lever sticky

The small lever on the inside of the mirror box is what controls the aperture. If the lever on the outside is sticking, it would only hold the lever on the inside down so you would be stopped down all the time. You can try a small amount of lighter fluid at the base of the outside lever and work it back and forth to see if it would free up.

D80 - Changing Aperture priority setting doesn't change depth of field

It is possible that there are other factors affecting the depth of field in your photos, even when changing the aperture priority setting. The aperture value determines the size of the opening in the lens through which light enters the camera body and onto the camera sensor. A larger aperture (smaller f-number) results in a shallower depth of field, while a smaller aperture (larger f-number) results in a deeper depth of field. However, other factors such as the focal length of the lens, the distance between the camera and the subject, and the size of the camera sensor also play a role in determining the depth of field.
It is important to understand that aperture priority mode does not guarantee a specific depth of field, as the camera will still automatically adjust other settings such as shutter speed to achieve a balanced exposure. If you want to control the depth of field more precisely, you can switch to manual mode and adjust both the aperture and shutter speed until you achieve the desired effect.
In conclusion, if you're not getting the desired depth of field despite changing the aperture priority setting, it's best to examine other factors that could be affecting your photos and adjust accordingly.

Depth of field is the characteristic of how much of, or how deeply, the photograph is in focus. If the main subject is in focus but the foreground and background are blurred, the photo is said to have a shallow depth of field. if most of the photo is in focus, including the foreground and background, the photo is said to have a wide depth of field.

Depth of field is controlled by the aperture setting:

- A wide aperture setting (indicated by a low f-stop number) will provide shallow depth of field, resulting in the main subject being in focus and the foreground and background being blurry. This setting is particularly useful when taking portraits or when using a macro lens.

- A narrow aperture setting (indicated by a higher f-stop number) will provide wider depth of field, resulting in the entire photo being in focus. This setting is particularly useful when taking landscape or wide-angle photographs.

The photographs below are examples of how the same subject will photograph using different aperture settings. Note that as the aperture closes, which will allow less light to reach the image sensor, the shutter speed gets faster to produce the appropriate exposure.

Can i change shutter speed on my camera?

Not much. The D-540 is designed as a point-and-shoot camera, which means you're supposed to just point and shoot, without bothering about such minor details as the shutter speed and the aperture.

You have some control. For example, the Portrait mode will attempt to use a wide aperture to reduce the depth of field, which will result in a faster shutter speed, while the Landscape mode will attempt to use a smaller aperture to increase the depth of field, which will result in a slower shutter speed.

More sophisticated (and heavier, and more expensive) cameras will give you more control, but this is about all you're going to get with most point-and-shoot cameras.

How to KNOW the light is right 4 an Olympus OM20 Manual camera?

OM-20 was basically a upgraded OM-10 with the manual adapter built in and a number of other refinements.

The viewfinder has LED's to show the shutter speed recommended by the camera's lightmeter for the ISO and aperture selected. It also has an exposure compensation indicator (the +/- symbol) and an indicator for flash ready which doubles up as a post-exposure flash confirmation. There is also the indicator lamp to show manual mode has been selected. OM-10 lacks the manual mode lamp and the +/- indicator.

Like the OM-10, the OM-20 is primarily an aperture priority automatic camera. In this mode you set the ISO film speed, choose which aperture you wish to use (with the ability to use the lens depth of field preview button) and then the camera selects the correct shutter speed. The +/- exposure compensation control allows the user to tell the camera to modify the recommended shutter speed by up to two stops either way.

In manual mode, there is no manual metering. The light meter behaves exactly as it does in aperture priority mode and the viewfinder shows the recommended shutter speed and not the manually selected one. Correct metering is therefore a case of adjusting the aperture first, and then choosing the correct shutter speed indicated in the viewfinder. If the user then decides to select a different shutter speed, then the aperture ring must be adjusted to maintain the correct exposure. For example the aperture is set to f8 and the camera recommends 1/60th of a second. The user decides that a faster shutter speed is required and chooses 1/250th, but the viewfinder remains showing 1/60th. In order to keep the same exposure value the user must open the aperture by two full stops to f4. The camera's light meter will detect the new aperture setting and providing the light on the object is unchanged the viewfinder shutter speed display should now show 1/250th as well to confirm the correct adjustment. Alternatively, the user can choose the shutter speed first by looking at what has been set on the control ring (or by turning the ring to the end of its travel and then counting the clicks from there as all experienced OM users do) and then turning the aperture ring until the shutter speed shown in the viewfinder matches what's been manually set.

It all sounds clumsy and complex but is done far more quickly than I've taken to type this and becomes second nature.

Aperture priority metering is selected on the camera by choosing AUTO on the mode selecter. In this mode the shutter speed ring has no effect and the viewfinder always displays the automatically selected shutter speed.

Olympus om f manual

Hey _tj_,
The reason you’re not finding a download of your cameras manual is because the Olympus OM F is actually the Olympus OM 30, and was only called the F in limited markets. To get a download of your camera manual Google search "Olympus om 30 camera manual download" and the first link should bring up your camera's specs, and down at the bottom of the page there is a link that says OM manual. This link should bring up a PDF file of your camera's manual.

Sincerely,
Allan
