I have the micro USB, but no software/drivers
The simplest way to do this is to:
Unfortunately, you need to save the pictures one by one, so if you have a lot of pictures it will take a while. But hey, it's free and you're sticking it to Verizon.
If you don't have a cable and want to use BlueTooth instead, refer to this blog page (thank you to this gentleman, by the way): http://www.adrianandgenese.com/blogger/2009/01/28/uploaddownload-ringtones-and-wallpapers-to-your-lg-vx5500-using-bitpim-and-bluetooth/
You can also just back up that file, 10888, and it saves all of the pictures at once in a single locations. AWESOME, thanks for the help.
This was very helpful. Even the helpdesk at LG claims that there is no way to download pictures from a VX5500 using their USB driver. I was able to do it with the LG supplied driver athttp://www.lgforum.com/resources , and BitPim. This allowed me to determine that the pictures captured by the VX5500 were of low resolution, and that I don't need to bother to use it as a camera. Thankfully, I didn't have to pay Verizon 20.00 in data fees to discover that the LG VX5500 camera sucks.
Thanks to everyone!!! Very helpful info. I just backed up pictures from my LG VX5500 by 1) installing LG's USB Modem software on my PC, 2) connecting my phone to PC with a Verizon USB data cable, and 3) backing up my 10888 folder from within the Bitpim ver. 1.0.7 software.
Thanks! I was about to give up until I found your solution! :-)
Kudos to you and all those that post these nifty solutions. Worked like a charm!!

Thank you so much! My dressing wedding pictures were on the mobile I waited 2 years to get them... I am very grateful!
Thank you thank you thank you. Sooo helpful.
this was good ty, had to get some pics for my brother-in-law. an option I tried after downloading each individually was to right click on the 10888 folder and then select back up directory and it will load all the pics first and then give you an option to save in a destination folder, the file you are saving will show up as 10888

Go to Best Buy and pick up a Datapilot for LG. It contains a universal USB cable with 3 different connectors (Bear version is for the VX5500). The CD contains a CD with a software suite and drivers for getting pictures off your phone and uploading mp3 for ringtones.
Don't buy into what VZ says (they told me point-blank that downloading pictures from this phone via USB was not possible). They said I had to go through the online album. The idea is to get me to spend more money on texting/uploading charges.
1. Use The Newest Bit Pim with Bluetooth. 2. Click the edit tab then settings 3.Call it a X8560 4. Select the correct port for you Bluetooth 5. Click view tab check view file system 6.On the list of items below the bit bim icon click file system 7. In the next window over should be a file click the plus sign next to it. 8. Wait for a second while the program reads your phone. 9. Pictures are removable if you open the brew then the mod folder.
It took a bit of searching the internet but i found a way.
The drivers can be found in several places, on your wireless carrier's website, or on your phone manufacturers website.
Oftentimes, you can download them using the carriers communication manager for tethering. For example, http://vzam.net/ will allow you to download the VZAccess manager which carries USB drivers for most Verizon phones.
This works. Verizon said there was NO way! I use Mac's and PC. Both can use 3rd party software! And it does work. go to:

I have pictures on my LG VX5500 cell phone and can't get them off. I have a USB cable that fits the phone. Is there a free device driver download to help me get the pictures off the phone?
