SOURCE: Need menu control

On some tv's holding down one or two of the buttons on the front of the tv for a few seconds will bring up the menu. If it comes up you can probably navigate in the menu with the buttons on the front of the tv.

SOURCE: No Remote - Need to access Menu

on some sets you can push both the channel up and down buttons to access the menu, then use them and the volume buttons to navigate the menu. otherwise you may have to get a programmable remote control.

SOURCE: No Remote - Need to access Menu

We had the same problem - this worked for us:

1. Unplug TV
2. Press Channel up and Volume up at same time, while plugging TV back in (two person job - it will pull up a service screen)
3. Press Channel up and Chanel down at same time. (Access to menu screen)
4. Use Volume up and Volume down to switch between menu options. We finally found the EZ set up screen.

Somehow in the process we muted the TV and are now working on getting the sound back. :)
Good luck to you!

Will a universal remote work? How to access the menu?

A universal remote can work with your TV, but whether it can access the menu depends on the specific model of both the TV and the universal remote. Universal remotes are designed to be compatible with a wide range of devices, including TVs, DVD players, audio systems, and more. However, not all universal remotes have the same features or compatibility with every function of a specific TV.
Here are the general steps to set up a universal remote with your TV and access the menu:
  1. Check Compatibility:
    • Ensure that your universal remote is compatible with your TV model. The packaging or user manual of the universal remote should list compatible brands and models.
  2. Find the TV Code:
    • Locate the code for your specific TV model in the documentation that came with the universal remote. The manual should include a list of codes for various TV brands.
  3. Program the Universal Remote:
    • Follow the instructions in the universal remote's manual to program it for your TV. This usually involves entering a code that corresponds to your TV model.
  4. Testing:
    • After programming, test the basic functions like power, volume, and channel to ensure that the universal remote is working with your TV.
  5. Accessing the Menu:
    • Most universal remotes have a dedicated "Menu" button or a button labeled with a similar term. Press this button to access the menu on your TV.
    • If there isn't a specific "Menu" button, look for a button with an icon that resembles a list, settings, or options. Sometimes, these buttons serve the same purpose.
    • If you're unable to find a dedicated button, refer to the universal remote's manual for guidance on accessing the menu or adjusting settings.
  6. Navigating the Menu:
    • Once you've accessed the menu, use the arrow buttons or navigation buttons on the remote to move through the menu options.
    • Some universal remotes may have an "OK" or "Enter" button that you can press to select a menu option.

I have set the t.v. up with a magnavox universal remote control, and I can't find the up and down or left to right to hookup wifi

If you are trying to set up WiFi on your TV using a Magnavox universal remote control, you may need to use the remote's navigation buttons to access the TV's settings menu. These buttons are typically labeled "Up," "Down," "Left," and "Right," and they are used to navigate through the TV's on-screen menus. To use them, follow these steps:
  1. Press the "Menu" or "Settings" button on the remote to access the TV's settings menu.
  2. Use the "Up," "Down," "Left," and "Right" buttons to navigate through the menu options.
  3. Select the "Network" or "WiFi" option and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your WiFi connection.
If you are unable to access the TV's settings menu using the remote's navigation buttons, you may need to refer to the user manual for your TV or universal remote for more detailed instructions. Alternatively, you may need to contact Magnavox or the manufacturer of your TV for assistance.

I would like to know how to unlock the setup menu on a DR570KU Dvd video recorder. Menu appears but all options are locked.

Prior Fixya answer by Korede Atunrase:
Turn on your DVD player and television. Select the appropriate input source for your DVD player on your television.

Press the "Setup" button on your DVD player's remote control to display the main menu.

Navigate to the "Rating" menu option using the "Down" button on your remote control. Choose the "Parental Control" item by pressing the "Right" arrow button, followed by "Enter."

Enter the parental control access password using the numerical pad on your remote control, followed by the "Enter" button. If you did not previously setup a unique password, enter "8888" when prompted for the password.

Press the "Enter" button to display the parental control rating menu. Select the "8: Adult" menu selection by pressing the "Up" or "Down" directional buttons on your remote control, followed by "Enter." Press the "Open/Close" button on the front of the DVD player to complete the process.

If you can access the Menu options with your present universal remote, get into it, and surf thorugh picture adjustment and PIP adjustment screen, and set the PIP option to OFF. If you can't access the Menu option with your present remote control, there is no other way to do this without its original remote control.
