My Toshiba P55t-A5202 wont restart goes to black screen. I have to hold the power button and press again to turn back on

Hi Michell,
that seems to me (i cant see your screens ) 5year old PC.
it is going to sleep or hibernate? mode, this is normal. (if never changed).
if you dont like that then , change that. setting.
are you running MS, windows?
if yes in the control panel see POWER this is where you cure that.
or google
how to stop sleep mode window x, change x to your version of windows. mine is 10 .

Black screens have vast cause.
not bad black lamps your PC is good old LED lamps
the PC has a fan. and vents if not clear the pc will overheat.
the PC , does the fan run , spin and blow air, or heard?
running, then at black screen does the fan stop?
it might speed up the the CPU overheats and laptop stalls dead and black screened

there I did 2 cause, there are more, all classes of failure take hands on diagnosis.
get it repaired.

but the power settings the most easy to fix.

one more,
does it run ok with the big battery dropped of the bottom
and on AC pack power only/ if yes the old battery is bad, and shorted. as most do this old.

HP laptop will not turn on

NO PC stated, no OS stated. but.
all laptops made
take the stinking shorted battery out there
run AC forever.
does the fan run
does the cd eject button work>/?

got text next on screen see tHAT? (like hit ESC to enter SETUP"?
This is just step 1 and 2 of many
(step three, is boot to LIVE LINUX CD) to see if the PC is OK
if OK then the HDD is bad or the OS is CORRUPTED.
we use the same linux disk to do HDD tests. the hard disk drive.

is this PC like old. with CCLF back lamps , back in the dark ages
of 2010, and older????
if the back lamps CCFL go dead we use a flash light to check that.
see data there now?> yes, CCFL is dead.

next time post the PCs full model name
there are 1984 to now HP laptops so..
we cant guess this EVER> not possible.

My g60 -235dx laptop on startup error message say communication problem with I/O deveice, HD, flash drave , CD-ROM

G60-235dx. (2011 model, is my guess)
ok tell the full story please.
PC boots sequentially.
progress in that matters. so it seem windows unstated runs?
so you power on and what happens ?,
errors before windows logs in or after.?

my guess #1 is the main laptop battery is bad, remove it.
this pC runs on AC power pack endlessly, (AC power good)
dim screens. can be bad CCFL lamps or low power in the PC.
so again take out the battery
what flash drive, remove that, test the pC with no usb devices at all plugged in.

just an A.C power pack and no main big battery.
this PC has old CCFL lamp tubes that all go dim, fast.
turn yellow then dim the flicker and then DIE for ever.
all do. some in 2 years time never turned off. they do.

it the screen goes black use a flashlight if data is good on the screen the back lamp is croaking. (***** of CCFL tubes)
there are many cause of black screens, I can list 30. (will not)
but dim screens are only
1; main battery bad and shorted.
2: AC power pack near dead. (weak happens)
3: shorts in the main board, modules.overloading power buses.
4: CCFL dim as every one this old does, all do.
see flash light test.

Sir, My PC is starting problem, 1.Starting UPS - ON the system starts automatically without swith ON. 2.After Starting the keyboard & Mouse get stuck 3.after Restart the the keyboard & Mouse...

The UPS may not be sufficiently stable on power-on to run a PC immediately.

Try going into the BIOS setup after the restart and look for the option that has the computer "Start up automatically after power failure." Turn this off. That will take care of problem 1.

If this also takes care of problem 2, you may want to check whether the UPS has a problem. Start by plugging a couple of lamps with 100 Watt bulbs into the UPS outlets instead of the computer. Turn it on - the lamps should behave normally, not flicker or change brightness. With the lamps and UPS still on, unplug the UPS. The lamps should stay on with little or no change, and the battery warning light should not come on right away. If the UPS fails this test, its battery may need to be replaced or it has a regulator problem.

Can`t log in to internet at all

Try a different cable between your computer and your networking devices.

Or, Turn the DSL modem off.
If you have a router between your DSL router and your computer, turn it off.
Turn your computer off.
Turn the DSL modem on; wait for the lamps to "settle-down" to a pattern.
Turn the router on; wait for its lamps to "settle-down" to a predictable pattern.
Turn your computer on; wait for it to complete booting.
Click Start
Click Run
Type 'cmd' and press ENTER.
Enter 'ipconfig /all' and tell us what IP-address(es) you see.

The pc start but dont turn on the screen ?

You most likely have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp or simply the video cable needs reseating. After reseating the video cable and the problem is still there then :- To determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow the instructions. Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case. The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills. Check out for parts, repair service and DIY info.
