Had a power failure and now getting a PF E1 error on the control panel

We recently had a power failure and now I'm getting a PF E1 error on the control panel. I have tried to cancel everything, cut the power and tried to reset it. The bottom oven is locked and I can't figure out how to get that off. Every once and awhile I hear a ticking coming from the bottom oven. Can someone please help, can't find any data on whats wrong or how to fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Power Failure while oven was in self cleaning mode. When power was restored the control panel is completely dark, no error codes or PF indicator. The oven door is also locked after 24 hours, so the the...

Hello. You have an open rear oven thermostat causing the complete power failure of your unit. The part numbers you need are W10176670 for the upgraded blower and 9759243 for the thermostat. You will have to remove the oven from the wall in order to remove the back covers to access the thermostat and blower. The blower has been upgraded from 950cfm of airflow to 1200cfm. I have performed this service flash--you will definitely need a helper or 2 in order to pull the oven out and work on it. There is a service bulletin on your oven describing this exact situation. When you replace the thermostat and blower, re-mount the oven and then restore power, the oven will function and unlock. The link for the thermostat is here:
Thermal Overload Safety Thermostat

The link for the blower is here:

If you are hesitant about performing the repair yourself, definitely call for service. I hope this helps you!

How to get a pf code off . Just installed new control panel and this code is all that shows up. Help it a frigidaire oven mod. Ples389ech

I appreciate your inquiry, J.J!

From what you have described your Frigidaire oven is displaying an error code of "PF" and you just installed the control panel. A "PF" error code stands for power failure. This could be a possible problem with your control panel and power source. You may need to perform a reset on your oven and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. If this does not help resolve your issue I would recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

What does the message PF mean?

PF = Power Fail. Possibly damaged control board.

Power failure control panel beeps no lights on panel and oven wont turn on. have lights on inside of oven. do i need a code, never have before. always showed PF for power failure.

Was the oven doing a self clean when the PF occurred? If so the cavity limit probably tripped.
Sometimes the owner wants to shut down the process of self clean for whatever reason that also trips the cavity limit. If the oven circuit breaker is weak then their could be a power failure during which the oven was on and that could cause the cavity limit to trip. No lights on panel means the temp inside the oven control panel exceeded normal operating temp and the small inline fuse going into the control panel has melted:

This is what that small fuse looks like. To get to the insides
you usually drop the side trim exposing the screws then the controls fold outward.

I have a Kenmore Ultra Bake Stove, we had a power outage and neither the oven nor burners works. The code on top reads PF 5Ab. What can i do to reset the stove?

PF is usually power failure.
If "PF" appears at any other time, a power failure occurred. To remove "PF"and to reset the clock, press STOP/CLEAR.

Unplug the unit for half an hour or so to see if it will reset.
If not try to get into the diagnostics so you can see if there is a stored

My oven is giving me an error of E6 F2, what does that mean

Hi,

Equipment is Whirlpool double oven RBD305PDS14 built-in. After a very stormy summer 2007, I thought a power surge may have zapped the control board. Problem initially presented on display as error & fault "E6 F2"; simply pressing "Timer Off" would usually clear this error & fault code.

However, some months later, the display would often go completely blank followed by the beep sequence "short-long-short-short-short" (Morse code: dit dah dit dit dit). No error & fault code would appear. Pressing any keypad oven control did not work at all in this condition. When power was cycled at the breaker panel, the usual "PF" with clock display did not appear.

[TURN OVEN POWER OFF AT BREAKER!!!]

After following the excellent information on "how to remove the control panel" posted in this forum, I first tested the "control panel thermal fuse" (refer to the tech sheet that should be behind the control panel once it is removed). It showed a closed circuit.

I turned my attention to the "flexible" keypad connector cable (error & fault code "E6 F2" is a keypad or keypad connector problem; again, refer to tech sheet). The control panel has a board mounted female connector with two tabs that may be gently pulled upward to release the flexible cable.

I cleaned the flexible cable contact area (it seats into the board mounted female connector) carefully with a Q tip and some isopropyl alcohol. I reinserted the flexible cable and gently pressed down on the two tabs (noted above) on the board mounted female connector. VERY GENTLY tug on the flexible cable to insure it is gripped by the connector.

After all of this monkey business, I re-mounted the control panel display panel on the oven and restored power. So far, so good. After applying power, the "PF" with clock display always appears. I am able to set the clock and press "Start". Over functions normally. The clock displays as normal and I no longer observe the problem I described above.

BTW, I noted the incoming 240V has transient suppression (no surge protection, however

Indicator light says ''pf''

"PF" CODE USUALLY INDICATES A POWER FAILURE CLEAR CONTROL PANEL---RESET, CLOCK, OR TIMERS AND SET TO BAKE 350' IF EVERYTHING RESPONDS O.K. YOUR LIGHTS MAY HAVE BLINKED OR SOME OTHER POWER INTERUPTION
