Red light flashes on power switch, but no picture or sound on tv

Tv will not power on. red light on switch blinks. power relay clicks, but no picture or sound.

    My Sony WEGA T.V. make's a clicking sound like it's turning on and the green light flashes 4 times then it make's a clicking noise again like it would if it were going to turn off and then it will start blinking red 3 times and pause for about 4 seconds and flash red 3 times and pause again.IT doe's this over and over again it's only the power light that flashes not any other indecater as far as the lamp light or any thing it's only the power light=..[ CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP MY FAMILY OF 4 WITH THIS PROBLEM IT'S OUR TWIN GIRL'S ONLY T.V WE DON'T HAVE A LOT OF $ TO SPEND ON ANOTHER T.V. THANKS AND GOD BLESS=]

When I turn on my 50" Plasma TV the light goes from red to green. The Green LED flashes 14 times then solid. There is a white raster but no picture or sound.
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. No picture no sound. Red led blinks once relay clicks once and repeats
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication. You can get an idea about the faulty stage circuit inside the TV, by the number of these blinks. Count it carefully, by switching it ON and OFF, more than 2 times at least, so that, you can make sure about the number of these blinks. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. Plug in and red light flashes and makes a click sound
How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. The power light is just blinking red on my panasonic 1080i hdtv. cant even switch it off using the power button. picture and sound come on for about a second when the tv is switched on after power cord...
The power light keeps flashing and the tv won't turn on. If you unplug for a minute and hit the power button it sound like it is coming on then it shuts off and the red power light flashes slowly. The TV is a Panisonic 1080i HDTV, about 6-7 years old.

Did you get your set fixed or did you replace it? My same set did the same thing. Turned it off for 2-3hrs after watching it and when I tried to power it up- nothing but the sound it would normally make just before the major power up, sort of a relay click sound. No picture or sound but the red light blinks non-stop.

most times then not it's the capacitors on your power board that blew there for not supplying the tv with enough power if you open it up and check the capacitors it should be leaking some kind of liquid or the tops have bubbled up. its an easy fix cost>>2 dollars each

Sony KDP-65S550 red light keeps blinking
The STANDBY light is flashing on the television and there is no picture or sound. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

Sony Trinitron blank tv/no picture
When I turn on the TV I hear the click sound and the TV powers up. Immediatly the red (standby) light begins to flash 6 times on and off. this happenes only in the morning, but after 5:00PM when youturn on the TV as if nothing is wrong.
