Cover the basics, first. Look at the top of the remote. There are usually a row of buttons designating the device you are attempting to control. Try TV. Does anything function, then.? Try CABLE. Anything? Did any of the buttons light up on the remote? If none of the buttons on the remote lit up, it is not getting power. Either the battery is depleted, the contacts for the battery are so depressed they have lost contact with the battery, or the electronics in the device are shot. If any of the lights on the remote lit yet the TV did not respond (and you have tried powering on the TV manually), the remote may have lost its setting for working with this particular TV. How could that happen? If the electronics went without power sufficiently long, it could happen. If so, you have to go through the setup for the remote again (after you put in new batteries into the remote). I am guessing that you did check to see that the power strip was turned on and that the TV power cord was securely in the socket and that the powerstrip was securely plugged into a working power socket in the wall.
If not of that is working for you, you may have to buy a replacement remote (or a universal remote).
Testimonial: "It's not the remote since it works for the other iview unit I have. I can manually change channels though. Tried unplugging the unit also. What's strange is everything worked fine last time I used it 3 weeks ago."
Get new batteries and test it with a digital camera or AM radio - check google for procedure. If remote is ng you will have to replace it. Try ebay eBayeBay
