Start with the simplest answer first so make sure the laptop's WiFi is turned on. If you have set the router to provide a closed network your laptop will not see it automatically and you will need to enter the WiFi network settings in network setup. if you are using Windows click start, click control panel and click network, on the left hand sidebar you will see "Setup a Small or Home Office Network", follow the wizard and you should be able to get connected. If you are using Mac OS X click the Airport icon on your menu bar, click "other network" and enter the SSID, select the encryption type and enter the network key (password). Lastly make sure that if you have chosen to use an access control list you have entered and allowed your laptop's MAC address in the list before trying to connect.

It depends which trial version was downloaded. You can't reinstall the same trial download but they do have other trial downloads.
There is a student 2007, small business 2007, professional 2007 etc. versions. You can download each one of these if you have not already used these trial versions. They all offer the basics...Word, Excell, Powerpoint, Outlook with added software depending on what version you download.

what make and model is the PC?
if you have the hard drive cd from the manufacture then you should be able to install it.
you need to hit F6 during bootup, when you install the Windows Xp from a CD watch it very carefully, during the first few seconds. the bootup will ask for additional hard drive driver. that is when you hit F6 and follow the instruction. don't do anything till it ask for it.
