And if you do remove it, it is unlikely that you will have the equipment or the knowledge to fix the issue. Take it to a service centre.

An update to the initial posting. As a warranty service provider, I can state that physical damage as a result of mis-use is NOT covered under warranty. Lens problems caused by dropping the camera are considered mis-use and are not covered. There is a good posibility that the lens assembly is just out of timing and can be rebuilt, but the cost to do this will not be paid by the manufacturer.

I don't want you to believe that this repair will be for free as it will not.

Regards,
Dan

SOURCE: My FinePix S1800 Fujifilm Digital SLR camera says Frame No. Full''

Go to set up then Frame and change to RENEW. It is probably on continuous. My camera did the same thing and this solved it.
Apparently even thought the card is empty if it is on continuous it will start the picture numbering where you left off last time.

SOURCE: I have Fujifilm Finepix S1000. The battery door does not close

9_25_2012_6_17_43_pm.jpg
I know this is an old question, but when I had this problem I came across several forums that had the "tape it" or "drill a hole and screw it shut" solutions. Some even gave step by step instructions on taking the camera apart and replacing the battery compartment with one from a camera bought for parts. I even contacted Fujifilm for an estimate. All were either expensive, ineffective or damaging. The solution I came up with was to go to the Camera Exchange and buy a Quick Release plate used for tripods. One that was long enough to cover the battery door. It screws into the tripod mount on the back and holds the door closed. No damage, no hole drilling and it works. Also only cost me $8. Win!

I have a Fujifilm finepix digital S1000 fd camera. When I put in my batteries today, it said on the screen 'protected card'. How do I get this off so I can take photographs?

Take the memory card out of the camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

How do you use the timer to take pictures?

Press cursor-down (marked with a one-handed clock) to cycle through the self-timer settings. Start the self-timer by pressing the shutter release button as usual. Full details are in the "Self-Timer" section of the manual (begins on page 67 in my copy). If you need a manual you may download a copy here.

Camera freezes after taking picture

I had this problem with my s1000 Fujifilm, but solved it by changing the standard SD card for a SDHC class 4 card. It no longer freezes when a flash is used! I've tried a 4Gb and a 16 GB SDHC class 4 card and both are fine.

Problem with uploading photos from fujifilm finepix s1000

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.
