Question about Compaq Evo N600c Notebook

I have a sony evo n600c and when it starts up its says 103 charge circuit fails does and the battary does not work i know i will need another battery but what i am asking is is the 103 charge circuit fails mean it does need another battery and its not another problum ty

    i took battery out and it did the same thing 103 charge circuit failed i cannot try it on another laptop as not got one the same but i can live without the battery but would be nice to have one but i dont want to spend money on a battery and does not work but thats what i trying to find out if its just needs another battery with the problem or something Else

This error is commonly seen in Compaq laptops. Take out the battery,start the laptop with the adapter only and see if that error message pops up again and if not then it might be your battery.Usually battery life is 3yrs. Put the battery back again and see if the message pops up again. Try the battery on a different laptop. It could be the Voltage Converter Board...see service manual for the same or call Compaq service centre.

I accidently connected a 28volt charger to my evo
if the battery charger powers the computer, then i would imagine the motherboard is fine...

there should be some kind of fuse insode the battery to prevent things like this from causing them to explode.

wrong battery for it or connectoers on battery dirty could be the charger for the battery is bad and shorted battery out

Battery wont work
The battery is dead and it won't charge or hold its charge (all rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles). You need to buy a new battery, or just use the laptop connected to the mains supply.

The problem with your system is that the Battery you are using is Faulty is either the current voltage spoilt it or may be is an old age battery
What you will have to do is to get another Battery that you will first of all Charge it well before usage ok. nice
