SOURCE: Washer will not Spin during SPIN CYCLES

IT IS THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY, COST AROUND $50.00 WHICH IS FAR BETTER THAN $300.00, WHAT A SERVICE REPAIR PERSON WILL CHARGE YOU. YEA IT'S THE CRAZIEST THING IMAGINABLE, THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY BEING THE CAUSE FOR IT TO NOT SPIN ALL THE WATER OUT. I FIXED MINE MYSELF, HAD TO TAKE IT ALL APART VERY CAREFULLY, BUT I SAVED MYSELF $250.00. YOU CAN GET THE PART ONLINE OR GO TO NEAREST APPLIANCE PARTS STORE IN YOUR CITY. ASK FOR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY. THEY WILL KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE IT IS A VERY COMMON, I REPEAT VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS BRAND OF WASHING MACHINE.

SOURCE: will not drain after the wash cycle, will not enter the rinse cycle

It sounds like the lid switch is bad.Does it act as if the lid is open even when closed? A common problem is that its mounting method fails (breaks off) after some time. Quick way to test is:
Find the plastic striker in the lid and under matching hole in the washer's top you should be able to find this switch. Try to operate (close) that switch with your finger or a screw driver and operate the washer while holding it down. If now it works, the switch is the culprit. Available on-line around $30.

SOURCE: GE washing macine stops during the wash cycle

This is exactly what my machine was doing, as well. I fixed it by cleaning out the filter in front of the water pump.

Searching here, I found that you can remove the lower front panel (three screws along the bottom edge is all it takes) to get to the filter. With the panel removed, you'll see a round white plastic cover (about 3-4 inches diameter) that screws out. Get a bucket under the cover to catch the water that's in it (could be 2 quarts or more) and unscrew the cover.

The cover pulls out, revealing that is actually a screw-in plastic strainer. I found tons of coins, broken pens, paper clips, etc. in mine when I did this. A lot will be deep inside the black rubber hose that connects this filter housing to the washer drum. You can rake the stuff out with a bent wire clothes hanger. Shaking the black hose will help hurry the junk along and out of your machine. Screw the cover back on after the clean out and your machine should go back to normal.

Thinking about it, front loaders will have lots of small items flushed into the pump compared to top loaders. Coins you alway found in the bottom of the drum in a top loader, they all wind up in the filter of a front loader. And once it slow the drainage to a crawl the machine will shut down multiple times when it can't drain the water out completely, and it will never step up to it's max spin speed with all that water still in the drum.

SOURCE: Washer stops during rinse cycle and receive ER20

Hi,

Get the washer laying on it's side and using the access hole on the bottom carefully remove the screw clamp holding the large hole of the rubber housing to the tub drain (it will be obvious all other clips are green compression clips).

  • Carefully work the strainer out of this flexible rubber drain housing through the large hole.Clean it out and replace you will be good to go. Also remove all the hoses and check for a buildup of gunk. Hope this will fix your problem.

Thank you !!

KENMORE WASHER HAS ERROR CODE 5D DURING RINSE CYCLE. PUT THROUGH CLEAN CYCLE AND STILL HAPPENING. CLOTHES COMING OUT TOO WET

That code is SD (suds). The code is the same for many washing machine manufacturers. This code usually means that too much detergent was used. It can also mean that a regular detergent was used in a HE machine. An extra rinse and spin cycle might help. One option is to do a wash cycle with no items in the washer or a cleaning cycle. This may remove excess detergent that has built-up over time. If the error persists when the washer is run when empty, the motor or the drain pump are working improperly. First check the drain pump filter and drain line for any foreign objects. If that area is clear, then you probably have a problem with drive hub for the washer (or another part of the wash basket spin hardware).

With a Kenmore machine, the machines were made by a variety of manufacturers. Thus the locations of the drain pump filter and the wash basket spin mechanism to check for issues will depend on the machine prefix. Please add a comment with the full model number including the 3 digit prefix, if you want a parts diagram and other information to help solve this problem.

I hope this gets you started.

GE washer eterna series MOD: EWA4500D1WW SER:ZH154696G will spin during final spin cycle but not during wash cycle

Some GE washers with power wash option are designed to only spin during final rinse if that option is chosen.

Washer stops running and displays code SUD. The water doesn't drain until It's put on the rinse/spin cycle.

Make sure you are using HE (High Efficiency)detergent. The codes could mean your washer is telling you it has used a built in "SUD" routine during final rinse

I have a GE profile topload washer PTAN9455MGG displaying F4 Error code and no answers.

tou can test this by jumping the lid switch , to do this you cut the 2 wires and twist them together . now this will not permanently fix this it will run a cycle and then fault out again . It has to detect a open and close of the lid . the switch is cheap and its a easy repair

My GE SpaceSaver Washer/dryer will wash, but when it's time to rinse and spin the machine stops. It will not drain, riinse , or spin.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

Whirlpool Duet washer, during the wash cycle, get H F error code

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F/H means no water was detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. It can also happen if the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash. You’ll need to Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Whirlpool top Loading washing machine won't spin on spin cycle

If the washer won't finish a spin cycle, it probably means that your timer went bad or stalled. You can take the control panel off and look at the contacts for scorching or corrosion.
