Some schlage rosettes screw off. They have a special wrench. You might go to a lock shop, and ask the locksmith how to take it off. Other type knobs you pop off with a chisel or knife.

Schlage keypad door lock

The wiring on the BE series is prone to getting pinched. Open it up again to make sure that you haven't pinched or cut a wire, then make sure that you plugged the two halves of the wire back together again when you reinstalled it on the door after you removed it to find the preset code. If both of those things are done and the lock still doesn't function the only thing left is the battery. Replace it with a new alkaline battery and the lock should work. If it does not contact Schlage and their great customer service team will help you out!

How to change baterry o schlage be365

To change the battery on the BE365, you need to remove the inside cover by removing the two screws (one above and one below the deadbolt knob). Be careful to tuck the wires inside the lock so that they will not be crimped when you put the cover back on.

Do you here a beep and see a flashing light? Usually if pressing the Schlage button unlocks the deadbolt, your installation was done improperly. The cam on the base plate must be vertical and the bolt must be correctly installed.

You will always be able to lock and unlock the deadbolt with the inside thumb knob.

I hope this helps.

You did not indicate whether this is a new installation that you are having difficulty with, but I'm going to assume that it is.

I'm going to direct you to a web page that has a wealth of information for the Schlage locks:

http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstructionandManuals.aspx#1

This page has links to the PDF file of the installation instructions, which you should already have in your possession:

http://consumer.schlage.com/Project%20Documents/P515-859.pdf

Also, there are two videos that may be helpful in troubleshooting your problem:

Installing your FE 595 Keypad Entry Lock video:

http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstructionandManuals.aspx

And, Programming Your FE 595 Keypad Entry Lock:

http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstructionandManuals.aspx

The reason that I think it's a good idea to review these two videos is that again, assuming this is a new installation, is that you may spot a mistake in the initial installation process.

Was the "Thumbturn" in the proper position when the inside plate was installed? (Shown at the 5 minute mark of the installation video)

Also to be found on the Service Support page link is a link to Schlage's Service & Support
which will allow you to contact Schlage if the problem remains unresolved after reviewing your installation.

I hope this helped. Good luck!

I have spent over an hour looking for information on how to set a code for my Schlage BE365 CAM 619 keyless access deadbolt. I want a very SIMPLE explanation. Don't tell me to go to the Schlage web...

First make sure you have a fresh new battery installed
Next if you feel you have fiddled with it so much you can reset the lock to the factory default settings, to do this

1.Disconnect the Battery

2. Press and hold the Schlage Button while reconnecting the battery

However proceed before resulting to a reset and see if you are sucessful.

There are preprogrammed user codes already programmed into the unit
These two USER CODES (UC) are on the Yellow Sticker and on the Installation documents that came with the lock. Also the 6 Digit PROGRAMMING CODE (PC) is listed in the same location.

Assuming the lock was installed correctly and tested for correct operation.. proceed...

First.. I agree with you about the instructions.. many places they use the word "press" when they should have used the word "enter".. or phrase.. "enter the user code by pressing the corrosponding numbers".. however..

With the door open test the lock function
Press the Schlage button.. this should extend the bolt

Next Enter one of the two supplied preprogrammed user code (a) or (b) and rotate the thumbturn away from the door edge (generally to your left or counter clockwise) This should retract the bolt.

To Enter a New USER CODE (UC)

1.Enter the 6 Digit Programming Code (PC) via the key pad

2.The Schlage button will glow Orange

3.Press and release 1 on the keypad

4.Enter your new/desired 4 Digit USER CODE (UC) via the keypad

5.Enter the new/desired 4 Digit USER CODE (UC) via the keypad again (yes a second time)

The Schlage button should flash green.. signalling the program was sucessful

Repeat the lock function test using the new User Code (UC)
Make sure you write the new UC number down.

This lock will store up to 19 UC codes.

Good Luck!

When we lock the door you just have to press the schlage lever on the top of the elecronic keypad and the door opens. Help we don't want to go to bed with the house unlocked

the lock is set in factory mode and needs to be programed to the security code that you choose.
go through the code set up and program in your code and the lock will work as intended.
if there is a problem with the lock and it will not accept the codes then the only way to disable the motor function of the lock is to remove the battery itself and use the key bypass until you can get the lock fixed or replaced.

Need to know how to change batteries, I have ten properties with schlage keyless enties

It depends a bit on the lock and how it was installed.

For the Home locks with a panel on the interior of the door, remove two screws and take off the inside cover. These screws can be at the top and bottom or through the plate of the interior door handle. Then remove the 9V battery and install a new one. Put the cover back on and replace the handle, if needed, and the screws. (Do not use a cordless screwdiver - you could overtighten and strip the threads.)

Other installations have the battery inside the panel with the keypad on the exterior of the door. To access the battery compartment, you need to remove the interior door handle or lock. Then pull the keypad section out of the door. The 9V battery will be behind a coverplate on the back of the unit. This cover needs to be pivoted downwards to open the compartment.

The Schlage commercial offline locks (no computer monitoring) use AA alkaline batteries (4 or 8) in a block. The eight battery version has 4 batteries on each side of the block. These are all on the inside of the door. Remove one screw to get the cover off. Then remove two screws to get the battery holder off (this keeps the batteries from coming loose in the block). Replace all of the batteries and resecure both the battery holder and the cover panel.

For the consumer Schlage Locks manuals, see http://consumer.schlage.com/Service-Support/Pages/InstructionandManuals.aspx . For information on the Schlage commercial locks. see http://commercial.schlage.com/electronicsecurity.asp . The manuals are available in the Technical Library for each lock type.

I hope this helps.
