Unfortunately there's not much you can do personally about this problem. The best and most humane thing to do is call and report the problem to your local SPCA. Let the professionals handle it.

Cats are like Operating Systems -- sometimes, they may do want you want, but, most of the time, they have a mind of their own.

Yesterday 10 week old kitten ate some tuna and oil today found the kittens back end was very wet and sticky ,so gentlly bath the kitten , towel dryed it ,but got the shivers ,

Sounds like a cutie and a keeper.. i was told by a few vets (i get more than one oppinion) not to feed any cat tuna fish, it really dont hurt most but there is a few cats out there like mine was and you never give a can tuna.. I have had the same problem not to long ago and he was fine. The vet even said the young can take alot more.. :) and for the shivers i put a towl in the dryer so hes warm and dries easy..

Do I need to buy a chew toy for my new cat?

That's agood question. I have seen chewing toys available at cat shops but in generalcats are more into scratching than chewing. Kittens might enjoy a chew toy butit really depends on the cat. Don't spend a lot on those kind of toys unlessyou see that your cat is really into chewing.

I saw that you can buy cat harnesses,

Cat leashes are agreat way to train your cat and some people even like to take them for a walk.If you want to use one you should start from an early age so that the kittenwill get used to it.

Is a cat playpen worth the money? I have a new kitten and I'm not sure if she'll even enjoy it.

I highly recommend cat playpens. Playpens are an easy way to know where yourcat is at all times, keep them occupied and keep them from tearing up shoes andother at risk items. I think my cat hasa blast in his playpen!

How do cats act when they are about to give birth?

As an owner of a female cat who has had 7 liters of kittens, I consider myself an expert with respect to your question.

First thing you need to do is to get a box that is big enough for both, your cat and the kittens. (at leas 18 inches wide and 24 inches long by 8 inches deep.)

Second, place a towel in the bottom of the box.

Third, place the box where you need it to be - preferably in an out of the way place where your cat can get to it as well as food, water and her liter box when she needs to.

Fourth, Take her to the box and sit her just outside of it. (Don't put her in it.) Show her the box - and maybe put a little cat-nip in the box, but it has to be her idea to get in it and feel comfortable. When it's time, she'll begin looking for a suitable place to give birth. The plan is to get her to use the box and not deliver under the living room couch.

When she gets in the box, stroke her and speak to her in a calm voice. Let her know that it is OK to be in the box. She'll get to like the box and will probably sleep in it the night before having her kittens - to show it is now her territory.

If she has the kittens outside of the box, wait a couple of hours after she gives birth and take all of the kittens to the box. She'll follow.

Good luck....
