The center speaker has normal volume but the other 4 speakers are real faint. It is also used for sound for my tv, cable box and dvd player
That is one sick puppy. Looks like 4 of your amps are shot with only one working.

this sounds strange, but is true. you need to run your digital audio optical cable from your tv to your receiver (after, of course, connecting tv/receiver via hdmi). so, hdmi from blue ray to rec - hdmi from rec to tv - then optical from tv back to rec. it's round about, but that is how yamaha says (and the only way it works) to do it.

This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.
If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.

how many audio input does your cinemate have? in case you only have one, you need an audio video switcher. a sample picture of what you need is on this link > http://electronicsusa.com/svs14.html find what you need, that is just for you to see what its look like. another thing is check you dvd if it has a line input - meaning it allows you to connect another source into your dvd such as vhs, cd, mp3. for for audio video - you need 3 wires (video/audio left-right), for stereo audio - 2 wires (left/right connection). some dvd player call it as line1 and line2 inputs. if you have it then you should be ok. 3rd approach, a simple audio mixer with minimum 3 inputs and 1 ouput is enough. note: last thing, check your connection interface for connection compatibility if you plan to buy audio video switcher or audio mixer. hope this help. regards, cebuwano

HDMI is fantastic in that's the only thing you need to plug in to get what you want.
You'll need two of them however. Plug one end of the HDMI cord into the HDMI "OUT" on the dvd player and the other end of it to the receiver..labeled HDMI 'IN' Then, take the second cord and do that step with the receiver back to your big screen...HDMI OUT to IN.
Surround sound from TV sources only needs a L&R audio cable connected to the receiver input labled TV or MONITOR audio IN. Unless you'd like 5.1 dolby digital or DTS from the television that requires devices that you haven't mentioned owning. In that case you will be able to get Dolby ProLogic and Pro Logic II from stereo broad casted sources on your TV.
You will need a Component Video Cable
Connect the Red Green and Blue Connections from the TV to the Bose.
if your audio is coming from the TV, also connect stereo audio from the TV's audio out to the "TV" input on the bose.
if you want to hook up other devices (VCR, BluRay, etc) the video will go directly to the TV and audio will go directly to the Bose
