I need to repair my samsung tv as it won't turn on.

My samsung tv won't turn on. It flicks on then off without displaying any picture. the red light also flicks on and off 5 times which i believe is an error code. Are you able to provide me with guidance to fit it?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, [Exclude the model number] in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

SOURCE: blue light flashing 4 times

Sounds like it started "Protection Mode" because of a failed electronic part inside the TV. I don't have the actual Service Manual for your TV to tell you what the code means. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The common part to go bad for flat panel screens circuit board that powers the screen. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptom.

You have a few choices:

1. You can again try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.

2
. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you red light blinking codes, circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

If the lamp has been replaced I would think the Lamp ballast would be most likliest followed by the color wheel and then the Digital board. You can get any part needed for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com just leave them a email they respond quickly.

SOURCE: When I turn the tv on, no picture and only the stand by timer

Sound to me like your video amp failed on the C board. This board connects directly to the back of the CRT tube. It actually has the letter C on it. The video amp is IC702, PN: TDA6108JF. You can locate a vendor for the part by googling the provided PN. This amp is fairly cheap and not too difficult to replace if you can use a soldering iron. However, you must apply heatsink compound or it will over heat and fail more quickly. You should be able to get a tube from the same vendor as the amp. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.

Samsung LN26A450 screen won't work

Your model Samsung falls under a class actions settlement. These units have defective power supply boards and Samsung has agreed to pay for the repair / replacement of the boards at no cost to the user even if the unit is out of standard warranty. This sounds like the issue with your TV. Here is a link with additional information about the settlement and how to get the warranty work completed.
