So if you have confirmed that your antenna is good and delivering sufficient signal strength, then the issue has to be with a defective front end or tuner section. Usually located on main board of set.

SOURCE: Quasar VV-2001 TV/VCR combo - msg: Check Antenna Cable Connection

Check first the antenna using another TV. If there is no other TV available, check using an ohmeter. If you are 100% sure tha the antenna is ok then the antenna connector on your Tv is not making a good connection to the antenna plug.

SOURCE: When auto tuning my LG

Hello,

The ABC channels arrive on a different Harmonic than Analog signals; specifically the third Harmonic. When you auto tuned, the auto tune chip looks for stron analog channels on the first harmonic and any other strong signals. However the LG model is notably poor at capturing 3rd Harmonic signals.

Harmonics are different frequencies where the same signal can be captured. Making this overly simplified: a frequency multiplied by 2 is a harmonic and that multiplied by 2 is also of the same harmonic; inversely dividing by 2 and 2 gain and so on finds harmonics down in light wave frequencies.

You may be able to manually tune these ABC frequency channels manually (I do not know, as I live in the US and have no direct experience with this) and then add them in one by one. But, using the Auto Tune feature again will wipe those out. The same thing happens to other weak signals, which harmonic is actually (its on an offset carrier wave).

I just read of a man who built an improved antenna and put this in his attic and received ABC channels quit well. A decent understanding of Antenna physics is required, but it only took up 1.5m wide by .8m (sic) long. In a nutshell he improved his basic antenna by building his own more sophisticated antenna.

Shopping around and asking in the shops should get you an antenna add on that will work for you.

As I stated before I live in the US, and we don't have this, but I and others here at fixya have various experience in amateur radio.

I will ask a friend of mine who lives in Australia to confer with me on this problem of yours so he can add some value to our response to you.

Regards,
Worldvet

SOURCE: Options to auto-tune or manual re-tune are greyed

Problem solved!!
According to the Sony website I needed to get a software download in order to fix this problem. I found out how to do this from the manual and realised that the re-tune menu I was looking at was for analogue only. The pictograms onmy remote control are a blurred but the manual helpfully provided a picture showing the correct program "info" button (next to 0) which has options to look at other things, including a "detailed set up" menu on the blue tab, which provides options for software download and re-tune of digital channels.
Incidentally, I discovered that my TV model was not quite as quoted above - it is KD-28DX200U, but expect the same process works for other oldish models.

My Luxor tv won't change channel

There are a few potential reasons why your Luxor TV is not changing channels and some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
  1. Check the connection between the TV and the cable or satellite box to ensure that they are properly connected and not loose.
  2. Check the input source on the TV to make sure it is set to the correct source (e.g. HDMI, cable, or antenna).
  3. Check the settings on the cable or satellite box to ensure that it is set to the correct channel.
  4. Check the remote control for your TV to ensure that the batteries are not dead, and that the remote is not too far away from the TV.
  5. Check the TV settings to make sure that the channel auto-tuning feature is enabled.
  6. Try unplugging the TV from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in to see if it resolves the problem.
  7. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's likely that the problem is with the TV's tuner or a malfunctioning component, in this case, you may need to contact Luxor's customer service for further assistance or consider getting it repaired by a professional technician.
It's important to note that the troubleshooting process may vary depending on the specific model of your Luxor TV. If you are not comfortable working with electronic devices, it's best to contact a professional technician to diagnose and fix the issue.

My relative in UK send me a luxor tv here in the philipines..THE SOUND IS OKEY BUT THE PICTURE IS BLUERD..SOMEBODY CAN HELP ME

power voltage drop of 10 volts where you are
The more significant difference is that 60Hz systems usually use 110V (120V) or thereabouts for the domestic power supply, while 50Hz systems tend to use 220V, 230V etc

if found to be the issue and no slide switch to change on the TV somewhere
you may need a converter to equal 60 hrz

sound ok

any luxor should work there

i am thinking local signal signal

cable or roof antenna in the place
if auto auto tune or manual tune wont give a picture

not sure if a converter is needed
i am thinking try
. if coax cable old
re do all connections or replace with new cable

could get a TV antenna guy to reset the roof direction signal

if no better ..have doubts but
different channel wave lengths or faulty signal receiver

does the user manual cover world wide distribution or support
information
no online luxor TV support contact number

just a wiki information link
a long phone number ???

the internet email address is looping [email protected]

Set up indoor antenna

Plug antenna cable directly into antenna input on tv. Place antenna where you believe you will get a signal (don't know where you live but you can look up site map for optimum direction). Go into tv menu set tv to air and auto scan air channels. Your set will receive and memorize available channels. In your sets menu you should have a strength meter. You can use this to tune in the strongest possible signal. You may have to go back and rescan the channels because if you improve the antennas position you might pick up more channels and they won't just come in automatically. Once you've scanned and received maximum number of channels there will be no need to rescan again. If you do you run the risk of losing some channels and only a rescan under optimum conditions with regards to antenna position and environmental conditions will gain those back. Keep in mind some fringe channels may come and go. Hope this helps.

How do you set up an SP-813 indoor TV antenna?

There's not a lot to this antenna; nor much in the way of knowledge required to set it up. Connect a length of coax cable from the F type screw connector on the antenna. Connect the other end to your TVs antenna input. Plug in the power adapter. Switch on the antenna and set the gain adjuster to the half way position between min and max.

Now look at your neighbours properties. Which way are all their antenna pointing? Point yours in the same direction.

If you know what channel on the tuning scale the local TV stations use for broadcast then tune your TV manually. Then fine tune gain and direction of the antenna for best reception. If you don't know the tuning channel it's a bit more pot luck. Let the TV do an auto tuning and hope you have not too much or not too little gain and the antenna pointing in the right direction.

Cant retune through dvd player

Sounds like a few things going on here... Your indoor antenna for one is probably not making it easy for you as an outdoor antenna will work a whole lot better. This is why it open picks up half the channels and they are pixelating. Also you may have faulty rf leads. Replace these.

How to tune channels first time when you purchase a new Sony Kdl 32EX600 LED tv?

Hello
Do connection to the antena if you wants to set the TV auto tuned.
During this initial setup, you can perform the following:

1 Select the language for the on-screen display text.
2 Select HOME or Retail mode. [Here you have to select "Home" mode if the set displays "Retail"

3 Connect cable or antenna, then select OK to run Auto
Program

• If you have cable and antenna available, please connect cable first.

• IMPORTANT: Auto Program is only effective when cable or

antenna is connected. If you cancel Auto Program before completion some channels may not be
available.

4 Auto Program will scan for available channels from the signal source directly connected to

the TV's CABLE/ANTENNA input and may take sometime to complete the process. Follow
the help text provided on the screen to run Auto Program.
OK.

Tuning a sony trinitron tv

Most of the sony TV's comes with an auto tuning facility and all your need is ensure that the RF inout/cable TV or antennae is plugged into before the auto tuning is activated.
The auto tuning is available inthe older models on the set and in the newer models on the remote control. Choose program menu , tuning, auto mode.
Also you can search inthe manual mode individually and preset the channels position to your convenience such as news channels together, movies together etc.
