if you are having trouble removing the set screw make sure you are using the correct size allen wrench and confirm that it is a allen screw and not a trox screw. After doing this try tighten the screw slightly before loosening it. This should break it loose.

Go to your hardware store. Buy a set of allen keys. they look like an 'L' made from hexagonal bar. Turn the water off at the house cock. turn the shower handle on, insert the long 'leg' of the allen key. It will be the a fairly small one (1/16" possibly). Once slotted home turn it anti-clockwise several times. Then try to gently pull the handle off. It may have a bit of resistance if it is an old fitting. If not turn the allen key a few more times and try again.

I think you might need a handle remover tool. It looks like two "L"'s facing each other with a long screw going through the top of the two L's . With a T handle at the top. The two L's go up under the bottom of the faucet handle, and the long screw fits into the screw hole for the faucet handle. A dozen turns or so and the handle pops off the valve stem. Cost about 10-15 dollars at any hardware store. hope this helps.

Cold water handle on my American Standard cold water control just spins around with out turning on the water

There is an adapter from the faucet stem to the handle. A small gray plastic faucet part that frequently causes problems for many owners. You will need to call American Standard and ask for a new handle stem connector. The faucet came with a limited lifetime warranty and the part should be free. While you are getting one, you might as well get another for the other handle. American Standard's phone number is 1-800-442-1902.

I have an american standard bathroom faucet. Single handle. It is leaking where the faucet meets the sink. I do not see any screws to take off the handle. How do I fix it?

First, turn off the water supply under the sink. Next, put the faucet lever in the up position, no water should be coming out. While in the up position turn slowly while looking at the underside of the handle and you should be able to find a set screw. It will probable be an "allen head" type and you will need and allen head wrench to loosen it. An allen head looks like a hex shape, 6 sided I believe and is rod shaped. If you don't have one they come in sets at your local hardeware.

How do you separate the handle from the faucet. Americian standard Gold faucet.?

On the underside of the handle, all the way back on the round part there will be a hile that is sometimes covers with an little cap that you need to pop off with a knife or a small screwdriver. In that hole is a set screw that you will need an allen wrench to loosen. An allen wrench is a six sided peice of metal that will fit into the six sided whole in the set screw. Different handles will take different sizes, so you will have to find the right size to fit snuggly into the set screw hole.
Loosen the set screw and then you should be able to lift the handle up and off of the stem.
Hope that this helps you to solve your problem.
Thanks for using Fixya!

American Standard Cadet 2-handle tub & shower set-Model#3275 - low pressure output

When you installed the new tub faucet you probably turned off the water to that faucet of even the whole house. IF IT IS AN OLDER HOUSE, TURNING THE WATER OFF AND BACK ON CAN LOOSEN SOME DEBRIS IN THE WATER LINES THAT CAN FIND THEIR WAY TO YOUR NEW FAUCET. If there is a screen at the end of the water outlet it can be clogged with gunk. Uncrew the screen on the water outlet and clean. You may also want to flush out the hot and cold outlets by turning the water off, removing the cartigages and slowly let water flush them out. Then reassemble. Also when you have the tub handles out you can turn the hot and cold supply valves off and on a few times to loosen more debris if it exsists........Joe
