The PA048 is a Payne unit, Carrier product but a lower end(less expensive) unit, still made by Carrier, but it is a Payne unit. My experience and opinion, the Rheem is a better product, but both have/had issues with condenser coil leaking refrigerant. Both are 4 ton cooling capacity.
The difference is the sticker on the outside of the unit and the slightly higher price for parts on the Bryant. Go with the Rheem but don't be mad at me when it breaks down, the Bryant will too. Honestly it's luck!!!

SOURCE: The AC unit is not working on my bryant model
Does the blower inside work. If so check breaker and float switch on Air handler. That is about as far as you can go without a service tech. Rus
SOURCE: What is the part number for the outdoor fan motor?
as old as this unit is you probably cannot read the label on the motor it is either a 1/4 or 1/3 horse power 230 volt motor. a generic motor will work fine, use a 1/3 to be sure. also replace the capacitor so it matches the new motor. if you can read the label the part number is on it, should be an HK # with about 7 more digits
