SOURCE: have a norcent mdl315 dvd

there are many sound output jack from the back of a dvd players .If you are going to connect it to a TV you can use the rca output jack labelled audio out front L front R or main L and main .This sound out put requires an audio amplifier to process the signal output into a sound signal..Do not connect it directly into a speaker for there will be no sound you can hear.good luck and let me hear if you have if you need further assistance.

Do I need to use an optical fiber cable to hook up a Norcent DVD player with 4 speakers? I am using RCA jacks and get beautiful background sound, but no actual speaking sounds. Thanks!

DVD players normally don't have amps built into them. If you need to connect the DVD to amp (AV) then it will need to be connected either via an RF lead connected via RCA sockets marked RF OUT on the DVD player and one on the AV marked RF IN. If the AV has an optical in, then you can connect the DVD to that for better quality sound. You might also need to change the sound output settings on the DVD player to the correct one you are using.
Missing speaking sounds are the result of a lack of a centre channel speaker. If your AV doesn't have one. Then you will have to use the stereo only setting.
If the DVD player is only currently connected via the standard RCA left and right jacks, you will only get stereo sound.

Norcent DP 1800 dvd player has video, but no sound output with rca hook ups. No remote what do I do.

I'm thinking the audio cables are not connected properly because you do have video. Do you have an owner's manual for hooking up the audio? You may be able to find a manual online?

Need antenna wire for norcent dp 1950

You can use any standard FM antenna - even a piece of wire. The AM antenna is internal - it doesn't need an antenna.

Hi,
I wrote a short article for someone who had a similar problem a few days ago.
I will edit it for you so that it fits. Here it is.
Your DVD player should have output connectors in the back of it to plug your amplifier or receiver into. If you have a Stereo system (no surround sound speakers, or front center speaker) connect the DVD Audio Cables on the back of the DVD player to the STEREO (or MIXED ) Output Jacks. If it is connected to the Left Front and Right Front jacks of the "Surround Sound" output jacks instead of Stereo(or MIXED) then the dialog will be sent to the CENTER channel output. If you have no center channel speaker you will not hear it. Thus no dialog.
NOTE: In your case for the TV that is mono, here is the solution.
1 Connect a stereo pair of RCA cables (red and white "male" connectors at each end) to the Mixed or Stereo Output of the DVD player (NOT ANY SURROUND OUTPUTS).
2 Purchase an RCA type "Y" connector that has 2 female to a single male connectors on it. Walmart about 3 dollars.
3 Plug the single male plug of the Y connector into the back of the TV set's single mono audio input.
4 Connect the stereo RCA pair from the MIXED output of the DVD player into the Y connector that is now on the back of yourTV.
5 Run your yellow Video output from the DVD into the Back of the Set's yellow input.
That should do it. The sound should be clear and correct with dialog, effects and music.
Hope this helps,
Best,
Mark

I just bought the dual headrest from walmart and can not get the sound to work the passenger side. can anyone help me with this?or possibly tell me how to get the sound through the stereo.

The monitor only headrest does not have audio handling circuitry in it. the wire harness for that side is the one with the red and black wire, and the two video inputs, not the harness with the red and black wire and the three RCA jacks. It will function on the wrong harness, but it is not the correct one.

The DVD headrest has two harnesses. One of them is for power and output, the other is for input only from another source. The harness with the red and black wire has the three RCA outputs... the video lead goes to the other headrest, and the audio can be fed to an aux input on a stereo or amplifier. The input harness is designed to be Video 2 input from either a gaming system (a Game Cube is a nice option), or another DVD or video source (hand held video device such as iPod or Smart Phone like a HTC Touch Pro 2).

To get sound out of the stereo, either run the audio output from the headrest to the aux input on your stereo, or cycle the FM transmit options using the FMTX button on the DVD player unit to a station you can tune to on your car's FM radio.

Dvd player

Sounds like you have a faulty Drive/ Eject door motor, Snapped drive belt if a noice can be heard or the Motor driver chip has malfunctioned.

When you press eject listen for a noise like a small humming from the dvd drve part, if there is a hum then more than likely your belt has broken which is inexpensive but if nothing can be heard then its likely the motor or Driver Chip. The motor can be easily replaced if found on an auction site.
