SOURCE: Kindle will not take a charge

Does the little yellow charging light come on when you connect it? If not try a different charger. If that fails too, you may have a logic board issue. Amazon should give you a greplacement. If you're out warranty. Try to power up your Kindle with a different battery. If that fails, you need a new logic board, and you can get the part at Kindle Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at Kindle Repair Guide.

Sounds like your power cord is dead and that it's not charging. If it's new bring it back to the store you bought it from and get a new one.

SOURCE: kindle fire won't charge

You may need a new power cord or it is possible that your Kindle Fire's battery has died. If you noticed the battery life diminishing before it wouldn't charge this may be the case. Here is a site that has replacement batteries for the Kindle Fire:

Yes, I believe it will. You can also go on amazon and request if it will fit. Just go to your account and then to reviews and request your question there and amazon will help you get the answer.

My kindle fire will not take a charge. I have had it for about 6 years.

Kindle Fire tablets are notorious for having the AC adaptor and/or the port where it plugs in to the device wear out. I've had three of them wear out when the devices were barely a year old. At six years of usage, you're way ahead of the game. It's possible that you'll be able to recharge your Kindle Fire if you purchase a new AC adaptor, but if the problem is in the tablet itself and not in the cord, you may have to replace or repair the tablet. You didn't say whether it's still under warranty or not, so hopefully you renewed your warranty and won't have to pay for a new one. If it's no longer covered, and you have to pay for a new one, I'm sorry. The good news is that the newest Kindle Fire HD's have the p lug in port set at an angle, which helps prevent it from wearing out so quickly.

Why wont my kindle hd charge?

It could be the charger itself. Try taking the USB cable out of the charger and plug it into your computer, then plug in the Kindle. Your computer's USB port should be able to charge it. If it still doesn't charge, you might have a bigger issue with the tablet itself.

Kindle isnt charging

Yes it will :)

If you are using a USB port on a PC or Laptop think of trying a different USB port - sometimes they put out low power;
If your laptop or PC is more than 3 years old it probably can not put out enough power on the USB to charge a tablet (any tablet).

Check to see if any of your existing wall adaptors for (say) your phones have the same micro USB connection - use it to charge your Kindle - it's totally fine.

Go to any shop in the high street and buy a Micro USB wall adaptor, they start at about 5gbp. You can get them on Amazon too.

Remember it takes about 6 hours to charge from the wall and 16 hours (yes, 16) to charge from a computer usb.

Good luck

Won't charge

Dear Tish,

If, as you say, the connection feels loose, maybe the micro-USB connector had been forced sideways by the cable and lifted up the printed circuit board pads where it was soldered. My daughter, running while playing, entangled her leg in my Kindle cable while it was charging and the same happened to my connector...

in this case, you will have to take your Kindlle to a repair technician and have the connector re-soldered to its printed circuit tracks, repairing them in case they are broken.

The following guide can help the person that is going to open your Kindle to repair it:

http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Kindle+Fire+Teardown/7099

And if you search in YouTube for 'Kindle Fire USB charging problem', you will find that there are more than a thousand videos showing how to repair the power and signal connections.

Hope you may find this info helpful!

Regards,
