Start by heading into settings by selecting the gear-shaped settings button in the notification pulldown bar, or navigation to the settings app in the application tray. Now this is where things changed. In Settings go to “Display”, not notifications, and under Display settings is a toggle for the notification LED. Under Settings > Display > find “LED Indicator” and turn the switch to on.

well i am not so sure about what would have went wrong..but you can check if you have enabled Screened messages. In that case messages do come but they directly go into the screened messages.

configure your data account in the phone.
Go to Options/ advanced options/ enterprises account activation
enter your email and password for your enterprise account and it will hook up.
when they configured your phone did they set it up or did you get it in the mail?

This happens because of large applications are installed on the BlackBerry smartphone.
To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:-
a) Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
b) Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
c) Double-click Application Loader.
d) At the Device Application Selection screen, under the application selection window, note the total application space.
NOTE:-Select the List additional applications that are installed on the connected device check box to include the applications that are installed outside of the BlackBerry Device Software applications and the file sizes.
3) Remove applications that are not required. For example, remove additional language packs and themes.
Then, with one finger.. touch the screen at the top of the phone and move finger down the screen (while still touching the screen).. you should see the notification area.. under the settings of that area it will show what is alerting you:
