If its not doing anything at all ,your power board may be bad as well as your ac adapter maybe faulty. Also the power jack where the adapter plugs in may need resoldering or replaced.

The orange light shows the battery is charging. It will turn green when the battery is fully charged. The white light shows there is power entering the computer.
The usual problem with a computer when there is no response to pressing the power button is that the motherboard has failed requiring the replacement of the motherboard.
If the computer is still under warranty there should be a free motherboard replacement, if not, and you are able to do the replacement, you can find motherboards for sale on various websites. Be aware that motherboard replacement for laptops can be expensive if done by computer repair shops.

My daughters Toshiba satellite l505d will not boot up correctly. It starts but then nothing happens. What do I need to do. Have already taken battery out and restarted. Any help would be helpful.

Try the following.
1. Remove battery and plug in the AC Adapter and check if it works
If yes - Battery is defective
If no - Motherboard Problem/AC adapter

2. Check the AC adapter LED indicator if its lighted or not(double check by a multitester)
If lighted - it works properly
if not - replace
3. Try to reinstall WINDOWS operating system by the use of the installer CD
4. Reformat your computer and install necessary drivers and applications

Thanks. Cheers!

Toshiba 5205-S503 Laptop- No power

- You may want to try to reseating all neccessary things on the system like optical drive, hdd, memory but before you do that disengage the power from the system like the ac and battery.

-If no..go try to remove the optical drive first and then turn the system on, then if the system boot without the optical drive shut it down and put back the optical drive and boot to bios and load the default setting and boot the system normally.
